Makeup Revolution’s new Skin Silk Serum Foundation costs just £10.99 and promises to hydrate and nourish the skin while providing medium coverage

Makeup Revolution, undoubtedly one the best cheap makeup brands in the UK, has launched its first-ever serum foundation.

Called the Skin Silk Serum Foundation, the new launch costs £10.99 and offers light to medium coverage with a satin finish.

It’s available in 20 shades, starting from F0.5 for very fair skin with pink undertones to F20 for deep skin with a warm undertone and, as its name suggests, contains a host of skincare ingredients.

This includes hyaluronic acid, known for its hydrating properties and for making skin look more plump, and peptides which are amino acids that help repair the skin and improve its elasticity.

This new product comes at a time when the beauty industry is seeing a shift towards products that combine the benefits of skincare and makeup, a trend that has been growing in popularity among consumers looking for more from their makeup products.

This isn’t the most inclusive range of shades but Makeup Revolution does always make a conscious effort to cater to a diverse customer base and goes above and beyond many other affordable makeup brands.

Elsewhere, in blind trials, 94% of the participants agreed the foundation felt weightless on their skin; 89% said it gave them a healthy glow and 87% said it helped to blur their imperfections. Granted this was a trial of just 59 people over a short two-week period but the results are promising.

The launch of the Skin Silk Serum Foundation by Makeup Revolution is a response to the evolving beauty landscape, where consumers are increasingly looking for products that offer more than just aesthetic benefits.
