How Fake Scenarios Are Doing You More Harm Than Good.

Living in your head is fun.

How would I know that?

Because I’m one of those people who enjoy living in their heads. If you are too then here is the single reason why you should stop.

Living in your head has this escapism to it which we all crave and indulge in but like all cravings, soon we lose control over it and slip into it so often that it is almost second nature.

We live out our wildest fantasies through our mind. In our head, we can have the perfect Body, all the success we crave, fancy houses.

In our heads we can be confident, bold, assertive. We can be a rockstar, nurse, pilot.. you name it.

As long as you can name it, we can imagine it.

It’s indeed thrilling and tempting to indulge in this at every spare moment however this is where it can start getting hramful.

When creating Fake Scenarios we of course opt for the best and only the best. So we come up on top in any fantasy we create. But reality isn’t that way.

Using myself as a prime example, I love to live in the deulsional scenarios in my head where I am prettier, have the body I want and Achieve the goals I have, traveling and doing all that, not going to go into details.

However, I noticed that overtime I was less happy with my image because I constantly felt like I needed to achieve the image in my delusion to be taken more seriously or just to achieve self confidence in real life.

And what did I do? I indulged more in the scenarios because like I said there is an allure to them that make it irrestible. Often times you have gone far down the line before you realise that once again you’re creating an imaginary scenario.

After a while you realise that you have lost satisfaction with the life you are living and chasing those in your fantasy world.

How do you combat this?

I would tell you to stop day dreaming but we know that’s almost impossible because with so much mental room that isn’t happening.

Instead what you should do is make a concious effort to implelmet elements of relaity into your delusions.

An example of a way I implement this is instead of dreaming of being in another body or having a different body. When in fantasy world, I still create delsuions but with my current appearance learning to embrace the body I have now.

Rather than dream of me in different fields, I focus on dreaming of me achieveing my goals in my current field. It might be less fun and thrilling it’s closer to my reality where I am in touch with what’s around me but still has that fantasy aspect.

You can think of unique ways in which you add some elemnt of reality into your fantasies or delusions so instead of feeling sad everytime you are jolted back into reality, you feel energized and more ready to achieve your goals.

I hope this helps!
