The inspiration behind self care Sundays.

In today’s post, I will be sharing the inspiration behind self-care Sunday or as long-time readers of my blog know it, Inspiring Quotes for you.

If you’re just joining us, Inspiring Quotes is a series I do every Sunday where I share quotes that can inspire you whether it is for the week, day, or month.

Frankly speaking, I’m not sure where it all started. So I can’t trace the concept that far back but I can tell you when I started to pay attention to it.

I would say it developed as a tactic I used to motivate myself to get through whatever Book I was reading for the week or the month which relates to my personal development.

Inspiring quotes aren’t just any 10 random quotes. There are quotes I pick out from whatever book I have read that week.

I never search the quotes online; rather every Saturday I go over my personal development journal and pick 10 quotes that stuck with me from everything I have read that week.

So in essence, no reading for the week meant no inspiring quotes to post.

This became my motivation, I knew I didn’t want to quit posting the series so I took my weekly reading seriously.

I have posted quotes from several books like The Psychology of Money, The Laws of Human Nature, You Can Win, The Leader with no title, the richest man in Babylon, and Think and Grow Rich… Just to name but a few.

The current read is The One Thing which I started about 2 weeks ago after I got done with The Laws Of Human Nature. So the quotes from the past 2 Sundays have been from a book titled The One Thing. [ which I absolutely recommend you read]

And if you have any book recommendations for me, you can type them in the comment section and the reason you loved that book so much.

It was around this time last year that I started taking my development seriously and I am glad I did. The secrets that books hold you can’t even begin to comprehend.

However the idea of self-care Sunday is very recent, I don’t think it’s been up to 2 months now but I just had the inspiration one day whilst I was laying down and it has stuck ever since.

So there you have it guys that’s how Inspiring quotes were birthed.
