St Luke's Bombed Out Church

Liverpool has an almost unbelievable number of iconic buildings and open spaces. Yet despite this, there is a tiny handful instantly recognisable to ANYONE who has ever spent time in the city.

St Luke's (aka the Bound out Church) is one such building. During the May Blitz of 1941, St Luke's suffered catastrophic damage, leaving only its external masonry standing. In 1952 the building was awarded Grade II listed status as a memorial. Over the following 60 years, however, the site lay derelict, becoming increasingly overgrown and inaccessible. However, in 2007 and after years of hard work and several cultural events, the venue was once more opened to the public.

Today it can be hired as one of Liverpool's most unique & Quirky Wedding Venues. St Luke's is an unrivalled idyllic setting tucked away in the city's heart.
