Importance of Construction Blue Print in Real Estate

Construction blueprints – lines and symbols which describe the design and architecture of the building with elegance! Construction drawings look complicated, but in fact, you do not need to be a professional engineer or architect to understand prints.

You will be needed to understand the basics of drawings before starting house construction. Construction drawings are two-dimensional plans that will help you understand the project and determine the building schedule, material bills, the overall cost of the structure, and much more.

We can say that understanding construction blueprints is crucial for every property owner in Pakistan. Here in this blog, Reall.Pk has gathered a comprehensive guide on building drawings, the importance of blueprints in real estate, and types of views.

Let's start with the meaning of the construction blueprint:

Construction Blueprint:

Blueprints of construction are popularly known as drawings of real estate and construction plans. According to Masterclass.com,

"A blueprint is a two-dimensional set of drawings that provides a detailed visual representation of how an architect wants a building to look. Blueprints typically specify a building's dimensions, construction materials, and the exact placement of all its components."

The drawings are a comprehensive guide on overall all aspects. The design will elaborate on many things that include electric fittings and many things. The size of drawings differs between 18x24 inches and 24x36 inches. The size of construction plans depends on the real estate project scope.

The drawings are usually printed on blue and white paper, and it is necessary to obtain them to get construction permission from relevant development authorities. Every blueprint set consists of multiple sheets, and there are several types of prints known as construction drawings, plans, floor plans, etc.

Importance of blueprints in construction:

No building can be constructed without blueprints, as these are the foundation of construction real estate projects. The blueprints of buildings unify engineers, contractors, laborers, homeowners, engineers, and relevant personnel from development authorities in one place.

Drawings feature all technical and physical specifications of the project in one place. Everything on one table is quite helpful for the contractors to determine the project completion time. It also elaborates the cost that is required.

Development authorities like RDA only approve building construction after evaluating these blueprints. The house structure can be started only when the designs/drawings are in ideal compliance with building codes.

Construction blueprints are great resources for maintenance, modifications, and further renovations in the future.

Types of views in Construction drawings:

There are three different types of views used in blueprints of construction. It is essential to know about ideas to understand other perspectives and angels of drawings used by engineers and architects while creating drawings. The views of construction blueprints are:

·Plan View:

It is on a horizontal plan and provides a glimpse of the building structure above. Every floor has a different plan view drawing.

·Elevation View:

The elevation view blueprint is on a vertical plane and tells what the structure of the building will look like from all sides. It includes exterior and interior elevation view prints.

·Cross-Section View:

It is also a vertical construction plane; however, it shows the structure's interior. It tells the viewer about the placement of walls, insulation material, sheathing, etc.

How to read Construction Blueprints?

Blueprints are more than the layout of buildings, and as a house owner, you can read the construction drawings by knowing their features and how to read them. So let's have a look at these features:

1.Title Block:

Title blocks are small rectangles at the bottom right corner of the construction drawing sheet. It can also be a narrow band that expands across the length and width of the construction sheet with basic project information. The block refers to information like:

All blueprints include a grid system along the vertical and horizontal axes with numerical digitals on one sheet and alphabets on the other. The block also contains the signature of the person who revised the drawings.

4.Notes and legends:

Architects include notes about the project with legend keys to each of the construction drawing symbols at the bottom of the drawing page. Legend helps homeowners to read the design without any hassle.
