Help! I am overwhelmed. How do I figure out Disney World?

Tags: disney

Before my first time at Disney, I bought the travel guide books about Disney World. You know, the ones with the pictures? I used to bring those books to the beach and plan out what I wanted to ride on and all the things I wanted to do. But actually getting to the park and doing the things is a whole ‘nother animal. What can you do if you are feeling very overwhelmed and lost when it comes to planning your Disney trip?

Have no fear, the Tangerine is here. (That was so lame. Sorry. I am not normal. See website name.) Knowledge and being prepared are going to help you not feel overwhelmed, and here is where I tell my friends and family to go to when they come to me for advice:

YouTube

It’s your best friend. Sarah is your best friend? Not anymore. It’s YouTube. (Sorry, Sarah.) I learn well with books but videos can show you what books can only try to show you. Find the following people on YouTube and subscribe, and watch as many of their vlogs as you can. Many of my best tips have come from these people first. Click the name to bring you to their channel.

This Is Really Not Normal (for obvious reasons)

Tim Tracker He is the OG of Disney Vlogs and if I ever get to meet him I will faint.

Paging Mr. Morrow Nate is the first YouTuber that I watched when I was planning my trips. He is everything good in the world and I will watch him until the end of time.

That Crazy Disney Lady I have run into Tanya about fifty times. She is always in the parks and knows Disney World like it’s her home. Because I am pretty sure it actually is. Tanya is a live YouTuber and will give you your Disney fix.

Cory Meets World Cory and his hair, a dream team. Cory is an all around good guy who goes live every Thursday night.

ResortTV1 I would argue that ResortTv1 IS Disney YouTube. They were doing it before the cool kids hopped in. There are years and years of videos, and their quality and knowledge of Disney is unapparelled. They are another live channel but also with vlogs.

Magical News Live Nick works at Disney and knows so much about it. You will learn a lot from him and he is also another solid dude. Disney guys are just gems, can we all agree?

Super Enthused Jackie is fun, entertaining, and goes to the parks often. All of these channels as soon as a new video pops up, I watch.

Steve’s World Steve goes live on Mondays and is another really good YouTube streamer. And he knows Disney well because he used to live under a Disney bridge. (That’s a joke, BTW.)

All Ears All Ears is my top YouTube channel for Disney. I have met Molly, and I did faint. And acted decidedly uncool, by taking her picture then pretending I did not just do so, then ran away in embarrassment. Everything I have learned about Disney I have learned from All Ears. And that’s not hyperbole.

Disney Food Blog Disney Food Blog also has a great website that I use to plan my EPCOT Festival trips. Interesting fact: Their facemasks are my absolute favorite of any. How cute are these?

Websites

Since we were just talking about Disney Food Blog, here are my top websites for planning your Disney trip. (Besides mine, of course!):

  • Disney Food Blog Their Festival planning guides are invaluable
  • AllEars.Net Here you will find a wealth of information on Disney World
  • Disney’s Website Go right to the source

Podcasts

Mouse Chat-These are my people. Fun and entertaining. They are travel agents so it’s their job to know how to help you plan your Disney trip.

My Disney App

You are going to need it. There is no way around being in the park without it. Here is what you are going to get with the app:

  • Wait times
  • Maps
  • Showtimes
  • Genie and Genie Plus (Genie will help you plan your day for free!)
  • Mobile order food in the park (this is life changing)
  • Mobile Checkout in the park (no need to wait in those check out lines!)
  • Trip Reservations, Tickets and Passes are stored here
  • Virtual Que for Guardians of the Galaxy (You can’t get on it without this)
  • Games to play while you wait in line

Use a Travel Agent

Did you know it does not cost you a thing to use a travel agent? They get paid by Disney when you book, so it does not cost you a dime to use one. They know all things Disney because that is their job to know. They can also save you a lot of money by finding the best deals for your trip. I am local so I don’t have to use one, but if you are coming from out of state they are invaluable to you.

Last but not least: All things This is Really Not Normal

If you are still feeling overwhelmed, check out my blogs, TikToks and YouTube for everything Disney. I have been to Disney about one million times, give or take, and I know what to do and what NOT to do. Coming soon: A do this, not that blog post, for those big no-nos. And check out my Top Ten Rookie Mistakes post:

Don’t Make These Rookie Mistakes at Disney World

I am so excited that you are diving into the best world in the universe-Disney World! Don’t get overwhelmed, get informed.

Groan. I’ll see myself out.
