Natural and Reusable Homemade Makeup Remover Wipes

It’s just as important what you put on your skin as what you put in your body.

Unknown

Taking off your makeup and cleaning your face after a long day is always so refreshing! It is always a good idea to clean your face at the end of the day, but have you ever thought about what you were using to do so?

The beauty products we use on our skin are important. Make sure what you are putting on your skin is safe and healthy. Making your own Makeup Remover Wipes may be a good option! You will know what ingredients go in them and know they are safe for your skin and body.

Why Should I Use Homemade Makeup Remover Wipes?

Do you ever wonder if the products you are using are the best for your skin? Do you worry about the ingredients or about harmful chemicals in your makeup or makeup remover? Are you concerned about it being safe for your skin? Do you wish you knew what the ingredients were in your makeup remover?

If you have ever asked yourself any of these questions, making your own makeup Remover Wipes may be the answer!

The ingredients in conventional makeup remover wipes usually consist of harsh chemicals that are not good for your skin.

Many skincare products, like makeup remover wipes, contain alcohol and other harsh chemicals that can dry your skin out, cause irritation (redness), and throw off the PH balance of your skin.

I think you should use homemade makeup remover wipes over store-bought makeup remover wipes because they are non-toxic and healthier for your skin.

I have always been concerned about what I am putting on to my skin. So many chemicals and ingredients are used in the cosmetic and beauty industry that are not good for us!

I wanted something natural and non-toxic to use for taking off my makeup and cleansing my face.

Making homemade makeup remover wipes was the best option for me. It’s one step towards taking care of my skin and my body. The skin is the largest organ on the body, and I want to protect it by knowing what is in the products I am using.

I know exactly what goes into these wipes and that they have natural ingredients that will not harm me.

How Can I Make These Makeup Remover Wipes Eco-Friendly?

I originally made this recipe using disposable cotton rounds, but in the last few years, I have focused on being more eco-friendly and sustainable.

Now, I like to use reusable makeup remover pads. It’s an easy way to help cut back on waste! Reusable makeup remover pads are a great alternative to cotton balls or disposable cotton rounds. They can be washed and reused many times!

These are much better for the environment than disposable wipes.

These reusable makeup wipes are very simple and easy to make. I have sensitive skin, and the simple ingredients do not irritate it.

I store mine in a small, airtight glass jar, which is a more sustainable option than using a plastic container. They stay wet and fresh for a long time!

I have kept them up to a month before, and they didn’t dry out. I think these are the best natural make-up remover wipes!

Make-Up Remover Wipes Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup distilled water
  • 1 tablespoon mild soap (liquid) – I love to use Castile soap!
  • 1 tablespoon liquid coconut oil (or solid coconut oil melted)- I love this kind with aloe vera!
  • 1/2 teaspoon witch hazel (for cosmetic use)
  • 2 drops Frankincense oil (optional) or one of your favorite essential oils that is safe for the skin
  • Reusable Makeup Remover Wipes

Instructions:

  1. If you are using solid cocnut oil, melt the oil to get 1 tablespoon.
  2. Combine all ingredients in a small mixing bowl with a pouring spout. Put reusable cotton pads in a jar- I use a small jar with an airtight lid. I put as many reusable cotton pads in the jar that will fit.
  3. Pour the mixture into the mason jar. Then, put the lid on the jar, turn it upside down to wet all the pads as needed. You can shake the jar as well to make sure all the pads are moistened.
  4. The cotton pads with stay moist for a while. Make sure to keep them in the airtight container with the lid on tightly.
