G42 also shared the appointment of Jain on X, saying, "Leading us into this new chapter of G42's growth story is Man Kumar Jain, a name synonymous with transformative leadership and ground-breaking success in the consumer technology sector".

Ex-Xiaomi India Head Man Jain Joins AI Firm

Man Kumar Jain, the former Xiaomi India head, on Monday announced he has joined Abu Ai-based artificial intelligence company (AI) G42 as its India CEO. G42 also shared the appointment of Jain on X, saying, "Leading us into this new chapter of G42's growth story is Man Kumar Jain, a name synonymous with transformative leadership and ground-breaking success in the consumer technology sector".

"I am delighted to announce that I am joining G42, a leading global AI company, to kick-start a new AI business in India! Together, we will innovate, disrupt, and drive forward the frontiers of Artificial Intelligence," Jain posted on X.

"#AI is transforming our lives and industries, and its potential is limitless. There is a great opportunity to harness this power and make a significant impact on India's tech landscape," he added.

Alexa Claims 2020 US Presidential Election Was 'Stolen' 

Amazon’s voice assistant Alexa has said that the 2020 US presidential election was “stolen by a massive amount of election fraud”, the media has reported. This comes amid concerns in rise over artificial intelligence (AI)-driven chatbots and virtual assistants spreading misinformation. Asked about fraud in the election race, in which Joe Biden defeated former president Donald Trump with 306 electoral college votes, Alexa said it was “stolen by a massive amount of election fraud,” citing Rumble, a video-streaming service favored by conservatives, The Washington Post reported.

Amid concerns that the rise of artificial intelligence will supercharge the spread of misinformation comes a wild fabrication from a more prosaic source: Amazon’s Alexa, which declared that the 2020 presidential election was stolen.

Zebra Technologies Brings Gen AI On Its Devices

US-based mobile computing company Zebra Technologies on Monday, in collaboration with Qualcomm, demonstrated a generative Artificial Intelligence (Gen AI) large language model (LLM). The on-device Gen AI running on Zebra handheld mobile computers and tablets won't need connectivity to the Cloud. On-device execution of GenAI LLMs has the potential to empower front-line workers with new capabilities, so they can deliver new outcomes for their end customers.

Twiggy One Lite Launched For Rs 99 In India

Twiggy One Lite membership, which will offer benefits such as free deliveries, exclusive offers, and discounts, was launched in India on Monday for Rs 99 for three months. With a three-month membership, users will get 10 free deliveries on food orders above Rs 149, plus 10 free deliveries on Instacart orders above Rs 199. In addition to free deliveries, members will receive up to 30 percent extra discounts across 20,000+ restaurants over and above the regular offers. One Lite members will also get a 10 percent discount on Twiggy Genie deliveries over Rs 60, the company said.

Membrane Fire Smartwatch, Launched 

Homegrown brand Membrane on Monday expanded its smartwatch portfolio with the launch of its new smartwatch model, Fire. The device is said to support up to five days of battery life and comes with 2.04-inch AMOLED screen and 2.5D curved glass. The price of the smartwatch has been set at Rs 6,999, but it is available on Flipkart at a discounted price of Rs 1,599 during the Big Billion Days sale.

Excited Launches 'World Cup' Broadband Plan

Homegrown internet startup Excited has launched a new "World Cup" broadband plan worth Rs 499 per month. This offer is available from October 5 through November 19 and will also offer a free subscription to Disney+ Hot star, access to more than 550 live TV channels and Internet speeds of up to 300 Mbps. The plan's price of Rs 499 per month gives access to OTT major Disney+ Hot star, which is the go-to destination for live cricket matches, including the World Cup.
