Solution 1- Rename the Intuit Sync Manager directory

This issue can arise if QuickBooks fails to access the Intuit Sync Manager folder during data sync. This can be due to a broken file path or an incorrect directory. This issue can be sorted by changing the name of the Intuit Sync Manager folder, which recreates the path to the location specified in the software. The Intuit Sync Manager folder is located in C:\Users\AppData\Local\intuit\SyncManager. Follow these steps-

  1. Go to the folder location using the file explorer and right-click on the folder.
  2. Select Rename in the options list.
  3. Type ‘.old’ at the end of the file name as an extension and save the folder.
  4. Reopen QuickBooks and try to sync the company file data again.

If the data sync stops again due to the issue, move to the next solution.

Solution 2- Remove Intuit Sync Manager from QuickBooks preferences

This error is repetitive, and you’ll see an error message randomly while working on the software. As soon as the Sync Manager malfunctions, you’ll see an error message on the screen, and the ongoing task might get affected. You can stop the issue from recurring by removing Intuit Sync Manager from QB preferences. You’ll not face any issues after temporarily disabling QuickBooks from syncing the company file data. Use the steps given below-

  1. Reboot your system and open QuickBooks.
  2. Click on the Edit option in the list.
  3. Select Preferences in the drop-down menu and tap Integrated Applications.
  4. Hover over the Company Preferences tab and select Intuit sync manager.
  5. Tap Remove.

The QuickBooks preferences will be configured after applying the steps given above. You must now clear the QuickBooks sync settings to avoid further interruptions. Use these steps-

  1. Open QuickBooks,
  2. Click on Help and select Manage data sync in the drop-down list.
  3. Tap Clear sync settings and click Yes to approve.
