Chit-chat September 2023

(This post comes with a trigger warning, with me mentioning suicide, when mention my Counselling sessions.)

My garden

My battery operated cat repeller is working as I noticed very soon from using it that it was. No more cat poo in my borders or damage to my pots.
I mentioned in last month's chit-chat post buying these from Primrose. They came in a pack of two. But I have just used one.

Counselling

I started my counselling this month that I said I would need to face.
I used a counsellor very local to me, so I didn't have far to go. That way, I felt I had some switch off time, or time to relax, before going to work in the evening, (when I was in the evening job,) without the rush of travelling and walking that I would have done if I used my counsellor I had used before.
There is a park opposite. So I have the option of walking around there if needed. Which I did.

First session about why I am there. It also helps to know the counsellor and whether she feels right for me.
I gave her the information she would need by printing the above post link and we spoke further about that and my other past counselling. (My childhood trauma counselling and when I had counselling for rape.)
I felt drained and emotional after the first counselling session.

The second session was then discussion on why I have gave a very short relationship a wide berth and how I feel on that. One being that I felt stupid for letting him in my life and for giving him my phone number as quickly as I did, because I usually don't share my phone number that soon with someone.

I spoke on suicide, which included the time I felt suicidal and what prevented me from going through with it, as much as I had strong thoughts on how I was going to go about it.

Employee of the month in my morning job

I received a bonus in this month's pay slip from my morning job. Something I have not had before and so I queried whether my pay was correct. It turned out they reintroduced Employee of the Month. They decided the first one should go to me for my continued effort and paying attention to detail in my cleaning job. They regarded me as an asset and wanted to show their thanks and their gratitude. It was a lovely surprise.

Evening work

Keeping this short. I left the evening job as I just didn't want to work there. It was just too much work for the time given and I still want a job where I clean on my own.

There was something else that went on in my final week, which you will gather what, in this post, "What part of do not contact don't you get?"

Physical exercises

The physical exercises I have been doing that I wanted to write in a post of its own, to give you a rough idea of what I do, is still in drafts because it will need tweaking again with my exercise routine changing. My routine has had many changes to adjust one day where it was a bit too much, so I changed my rest day around. But it has also changed to allow for progress.

I bought some 5kg dumbbells this month from ProIron.

Pumpkin bread

I made pumpkin bread near the end of this month. Sorry, but no photos this time.
I used a tin of pumpkin that my friend had bought me.
I plan to make another pumpkin bread next month.

Dvd's watched:

  • Lucifer (All 6 seasons that I started, I think, back in June.)
  • Skylines (2020 film)
  • I have watched all of season 14 of NCIS: Los Angeles. The final season.
  • Also watched, "I'll be there." Dvd pictured below.

  • And, "The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry." Dvd pictured below. This film was a very emotionally charged film as you get to know the leading characters.

With now watching the final season of NCIS: Los Angeles, I will now be rewatching The Mentalist dvd's, with the odd film in here and there from my collection, or something new.

How's your month been?
