Sharon herself somewhat went through the same remarkable journey of growth and redemption with Maricar

Sharon Cuneta wasn’t able to hide her awe as she lauded Maricar Reyes’ book on her social media account last August 28, 2023.

Describing it as a powerful narrative that transcends “that scandal,” the Megastar went on to highlight how the book delves into themes of healing and spiritual growth.

Obviously moved by its contents, Sharon couldn’t help but become introspective about Maricar’s journey of being closer to God as she heals.

“It had also made me take a good look at myself in terms of forgiving and thinking things like ‘Bakit ‘di naman ako masamang tao pero ganito,'” she wrote.

By reading the book, Sharon herself somewhat went through the same remarkable journey of growth and redemption with Maricar.

“I am humbled by Maricar’s honesty and sincerity, and truly proud of the woman she has become!” 

“Plus let us not forget na napakaganda niya, magaling na artista, regal ang bearing, isang doktora at ngayon ay maligayang maybahay ni Richard Poon,” Sharon said.

That Maricar never allowed the incident to define her eventually made Sharon feel proud to have known her.

“Matino at mabuting tao na nasangkot sa hindi dapat. I am honored to know such a woman,” she ended.

Maricar Reyes’ reaction

An obviously floored Maricar was only able to react with a single word to the heartfelt post.

“Speechless,” Maricar commented on the post.

Maricar’s husband meanwhile had the perfect words to describe what she felt after reading the post.

“Madam Mega, wifey is deeply deeply humbled by the gracious message you sent her,” wrote Richard in the comments section. 

After being involved in a sex video scandal in 2009, Maricar spoke up about the incident that she has never publicly addressed in her eponymously named book. 

Apart from that, the book shared her stories and photos from her childhood and how she made decisions growing up until the point of her crisis as well as tips on how to overcome online shame.
