Here Are The Nominees For MTV Video Music Awards 2023

Fans can now place their votes in all categories until September 1

The MTV Video Music Awards 2023 nominees have been unveiled! The awards, like every year, is meant to celebrate the industry’s standout names and music video projects from the past year.

Taylor Swift leads the 2023 MTV VMA nominations with eight nods, including categories like “Best Direction” and “Artist of the Year.”

SZA secured six nominations, while Olivia Rodrigo, Miley Cyrus, Doja Cat, Kim Petras, Nicki Minaj, and Sam Smith all earned five. The K-pop sensation BLACKPINK and Shakira and Diddy garnered four nominations each for the upcoming awards ceremony.

This year’s MTV VMA highlights 35 newcomers among the nominees, including Kim Petras with five nominations, Ice Spice, Reneé Rapp, K-pop group Fifty Fifty, JVKE, Toosii, and Stephen Sanchez.

Starting August 8, fans can vote in all 15 gender-neutral categories, along with the addition of “Best Afrobeats,” by visiting its official website, vote.mtv.com.

Voting will remain accessible until Friday, September 1. However, the “Best New Artist” polls will stay open until the winner is declared live during the show. MTV has announced that nominees for social categories like “Group of the Year” and “Song of the Summer” are forthcoming.

This year’s MTV VMAs is set to air globally on Tuesday, September 12 at 8 p.m. (ET) from Newark, New Jersey’s Prudential Center.
