“I couldn’t ask for a better mother of my child,” says Markus about Janella

For Markus Paterson, his ex-girlfriend Janella Salvador has taught him several important things including loving unconditionally, as well as facing the world and the reality.

During his interview with talent manager and vlogger Ogie Diaz released on August 6, 2023, Markus still has nothing but good words for the “Darna” star, with whom he shares a son named Jude.

“She was the first one to really actually teach me how to love unconditionally,” he said. “I’m glad that it happened with Janella because we already had that connection, that deep foundation of love and trust for each other.”

Although he admits to only having short relationships in the past, with Janella, things were different because “we already had that connection, the deep foundation of love and trust for each other.” 

This connection, according to Markus, made having Jude less scary.

“Sobrang blessed ako sa kanya. I couldn’t ask for a better mother of my child. Sobrang galing niya,” he added.

However, it just so happened that they weren’t meant to stay as a couple.

Despite all that they have been through together, Markus revealed that their relationship wasn’t perfect.

“Actually, perfect noong nasa UK pa kami pero noong bumalik na kami dito sa Pilipinas, parang kasi COVID noong time na ‘yun, di ba? Sobrang delikado, e, kailangan na naming mag-work,” he recalled, adding that it was when “a lot of realities set in.”

Without going into specifics, he explained that a lot of problems started cropping up and it reached a point that they were no longer speaking to each other.

“The fights became more frequent until, yeah, we just decided not to pursue this anymore because it just wasn’t helping and we didn’t want to raise Jude in a household na palaging nag-aaway,” he shared.

The situation prompted the couple to “take a break” to see how they feel.

“Doon na lang naging perfect yung set-up, e. We started off as really good friends and that’s where we’re at again now,” he ended.

Markus confirmed his split from Janella in September 2022, saying that they ended their romance “almost a year ago” at the time.
