A mixture of beauty, talent, and strength signs up with Universal Records

Universal Records has unveiled three new artists in its roster: Mark Rivera, Clare Inso, and Juan Carlos “JC” Galano.

The new mixture promotes a fresh outlook for familiar faces in the showbiz, theatre, and beauty pageant industry.

Mark Rivera

Prior to signing with Universal Records, Mark Rivera is known for his acting stints in TV shows. These are mainly for the shows “The Good Son” and the iWant series “Spirits: Reawaken.”

He is a former football player born and raised in Milan, Italy. His showbiz career started in 2012 after getting injured while representing the national football team Azkals.

According to Mark, passion for singing is what he inherited from his father, hearing classic pop and rock songs from Michael Learns to Rock and Westlife.

But it was listening to Christian Bautista that carved an avenue for him to have more passion for following Filipino artists and singing.

Admittedly, he had difficulties in adjusting especially in terms of learning both English and Filipino since he grew up in Italy.

As a singer, releasing “OPM kind of pop” is what he wants to achieve upon signing with Universal Records. “As an actor, I really want to express myself… I am excited about improving [composing music],” Mark adds.

Clare Inso

Clare Inso is a former Miss Universe Philippines candidate who represented Lapu-Lapu City.

Transitioning from being a beauty queen to a music artist, she opens up that she wants to focus on her strengths as an artist.

Clare expects that signing with Universal Music will give her a bigger platform to showcase her music, which can provide opportunity to explore more of her creative endeavors.

In terms of musical influences, Clare’s inspiration in writing is artist June Marieezy. She also dabbles into the soul and R&B genres for her music style.

She says about her music, “Not only catering to what people will like but what I will have the power to express. Something that comes from me and relates to my identity as a person.”

JC Galano

Juan Carlos “JC” Galano is best known for his lead role in “Zsa-zsa Zaturnnah.” For his new endeavor as an artist of Universal Records, JC aims to release pop singles for the masses.

As of the moment, he is in the creative process of learning the technical side of music, as well as writing his own songs.

His influences are a mixture of soul, R&B, pop, and a little bit of rock based on his favorite artists: Daniel Caesar and Devon.

Talking about ideas he wants to show in his music, he explains, “With what I’m trying to put out right now, parang nasa creative process ako into marrying bossa nova, pop, [and] a modern genre trap house.”
