Once she finds the right script, Angelica Panganiban is open to the idea of going back to acting come January

Angelica Panganiban admitted she is not yet ready to go full swing as far as her showbiz career is concerned.

In her most recent vlog, Angelica expressed that she might feel more at ease with the idea of not being around her daughter around September once Amila Sabine or Bean celebrates her first birthday.

“Pwede ko siyang pag-isipan after mag September, after mag one year ni Bean. Kasi doon medyo less guilt na siguro yung pagtigil ko sa pagpapadede,” she says.

In a few months’ time, Angelica said she will begin checking scripts of potential projects that have been presented to her.

“Pwede na akong magbasa ng scripts, tumanggap ng offers. Kasi ngayon, nakapila lang sila, but hindi ko pa binubuksan yung pintuan–meaning hindi ako nagbabasa ng script.

“Kasi kapag nagbasa ako ng script at may nagustuhan ako, mababaliw ako. Baka umalis na lang ako dito at magshu-shooting na ako. Though hindi ko naman yun gagawin talaga,” she said. 

But Angelica was quick to add that she’s not the type of person to easily move on from her career decisions, whether they are good or bad.

“Pero kasi, di ba? Ayaw kong makakita ng script tapos napanood ko tapos iisipin ko na sa akin dapat iyan. Ayaw na ayaw ko ng ganung feeling. So, iniiwasan ko magbasa,” Angelica explained.

Once she finds the right script, Angelica is open to the idea of going back to acting come January.

“Pwede na akong mag-start mag-shoot ng mga January next year, so very, very soon na siya,” she said.

Angelica has been on hiatus from showbiz for close to a year now, during which she welcomed her first child, Bean, and got engaged to her fiancé, Gregg Homan.

Her last television projects with ABS-CBN were the drama series “The Goodbye Girl” and “Walang Hanggang Paalam.”

Recall that in 2020, Angelica shocked the public when she announced during the press conference of “Walang Hanggang Paalam” that she will be retiring from doing soaps.

“Masaya ako at ang nakasama ko sa project na ito ay ang grupong ito dahil gusto ko na magpaalam sa larangan ng teleserye. But siguro, hanggang dito na lang po muna ang mga trabahong gagawin ko pagdating sa soap opera,” she said at the time.
