Breakthrough tandem AlEmpoy’s newest movie will be released this March 23

Alessandra de Rossi and Empoy Marquez return as a pair in the upcoming movie “Walang KaParis.” The Film comes six years after their box office film “Kita Kita,” which popularized their tandem as AlEmpoy.

“Walang KaParis” follows Paris-based Filipino artist Jojo (Marquez) as he searches for a mysterious woman that frequently appears in his thoughts as he paints. Soon, he crosses paths with Marie (De Rossi), who claims to be the muse he’s looking for.

The movie title is a play on the Tagalog word “kapares,” which means “love match,” as well as the city of Paris in France where the film was shot.

Meanwhile, both stars expressed their enthusiasm about working with each other anew on their respective Instagram accounts.

“Ang pagbabalik ng economy class tandem, na tatalunin ang pa-world class!” De Rossi captions the post.

She added, “Walang ganun! Kami na ‘to! We’re back and we’re back to back.”

Marquez, meanwhile, teased his co-star and wrote, “Hindi ko alam kung kinikilig ka sakin dahil [crush] mo talaga ako o nasisikipan ka sa damit na suot mo.”

The upcoming romantic film is produced by Spring Films and VIVA Films, with Piolo Pascual and Joyce Bernal tagged as producers. KZ Tandingan also returns to record the film’s original soundtrack. She did a rendition of “Two Less Lonely People” for “Kita Kita.”

AlEmpoy’s 2017 film is the highest-grossing independent film in the country after earning over P300 million in three weeks.

“Walang KaParis” will be released on March 23 through Prime Video.
