Dan Plumley insists there will be a wider penalty for Aston Villa Star Nicolo Zaniolo, on top of possible bans and fines.
The Italian international was caught up in a betting saga and was even questioned by police as part of their investigation into the matter during the break [ESPN].
The financial expert admits the scenario looks “more serious” than other recent cases, with everything on the table for sanctions in the coming days and weeks.
“The nature of how we discovered this seems more serious than other examples,” he told Villa News exclusively.
“The precedents for punishment would be similar, imagine, unless there are other details we don’t know yet.”
“So everything is on the table: fines, bans or even broader sanctions, but there is precedent for that.
That’s just the nature of this, it seems a little more surprising and harsher, but one can expect the punishment to be similar.
