Everton are showing interest in Hoffenheim Bundesliga star Maximilian Beier but face a battle with Premier League rivals Brentford.
With Germany crying out for a center forward – the days of Mario Gomez and Miroslav Klose are long gone – the rise of Maximilian Beier ahead of next summer’s European Championships on home soil could hardly have been be more timely.
Despite being only 20 years old, according to BILD the new Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann is already planning to give the Bavarian his first call-up ahead of the October international break. And few would argue that the Hoffenheim star doesn’t deserve the chance to stake his claim.

With BILD reporting that Beier has a £17m buyout clause in his Hoffenheim contract, he is unsurprising that Everton are sniffing around; the Toffees are looking for additional goalscorers but are operating on a limited budget.
Beto has impressed since his arrival and Dominic Calvert-Lewin has made it two from two.
But for the latter, injuries are never far away.
And with another relegation fight potentially on the horizon, Everton can’t really have too many goalscoring threats.
There is also interest from Brentford.
Thomas Frank’s Bees have made good use of the Bundesliga market of late – with the arrivals of Kevin Schade and Mark Fleken from Freiburg – and could see the explosive 6-foot-1 Bavarian as a potential replacement for the suspect Ivan Toney.
