The average high temperature in December is a comfortable 65 degrees, with lows dipping into the 40s at night. January and February are a bit cooler, with highs in the low 60s and lows in the 30s. However, even on the coolest days, the sun is usually out, making for perfect hiking weather. 2. The Crowds are Gone. 1. Waikiki Beach – Waikiki Beach is one of the most famous beaches in the world, and for good reason! With its soft sand and clear blue waters, Waikiki is the perfect place to relax and soak up the Hawaiian sun. Don’t forget to take a surf lesson or two while you’re here – it’s an experience you won’t want to miss!

2. Pearl Harbor – Pearl Harbor is a National Historic Landmark and home to the USS Arizona Memorial, which commemorates the over 2,000 men who lost their lives during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941. A visit to Pearl Harbor is both educational and moving, and well worth your time.

3. Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve – Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve is a protected marine life conservation area and one of the best places in Honolulu for snorkeling. Here you can find over 400 species of fish swimming among coral reefs just offshore. Be sure to arrive early as Hanauma Bay often reaches capacity by mid-morning! 

4. Diamond Head State Monument – Diamond Head State Monument offers breathtaking panoramic views of Honolulu and its surrounding areas. The summit can be reached via a short but challenging hike, or by taking the stairs up to the lookout point. Either way, it’s sure to be a memorable experience.

5. Lanikai Beach – Lanikai Beach is widely considered to be one of the most beautiful beaches in Hawaii. With its soft white sand and turquoise waters, it’s easy to see why Lanikai is such a popular spot for both locals and visitors alike. Be sure to come early as this beach often gets crowded later in the day! 

6. Kailua Beach Park – Kailua Beach Park is another one of Oahu’s gorgeous white sand beaches. The beach park also features picnic areas, BBQ pits, and a playground, making it perfect for families with young children. Kailua Beach Park is also a great place for stand-up paddleboarding, swimming, and sunbathing. 

7. Nuuanu Pali Lookout – Nuuanu Pali Lookout provides stunning views of Oahu’s Windward Coastline (on the east side of the island). The lookout point can be reached via car or by hiking the Pali Trail (a moderate 3-mile round trip hike). Either way you choose to get there, don’t forget your camera! 

8. Manoa Falls Trail – Manoa Falls Trail is an easy 1-mile round trip hike that leads to Manoa Falls, a 150-foot tall cascade waterfall hidden away in a lush rainforest setting. This trail is perfect for those who want to experience Hawaii’s natural beauty without having to trek miles into the wilderness. 

9 . Ala Moana Regional Park – Ala Moana Regional Park is a large urban park located just outside downtown Honolulu near Waikiki Beach . The park features numerous walking/jogging paths , tennis courts , an outdoor concert stage , and much more . It’s also adjacent to Ala Moana Center , one of Honolulu ‘s largest shopping malls , making it the perfect place to take a break from all that shopping ! 

10 . Iolani Palace – Iolani Palace was once the royal residence of Hawaii’s last two monarchs : King Kalakaua and Queen Liliuokalani . Today , it stands as a symbol of their legacy as well as an important part of Hawaiian history . Iolani Palace offers guided tours that provide visitors with an inside look at this incredible piece of architecture .
