Decorating: How to Make Your Own Holiday Magnets

Magnets are a fun way to decorate for Christmas. You can simply add them to your fridge or any other metal surface to dress up your rooms. Plus they come in handy for hanging Christmas cards, decorations and more.

You can buy Holiday magnets in the store, but for even more seasonal excitement, you can make your own at home. This article will give you tips on how it’s done.

Gather Your Materials

Materials for making holiday magnets include magnetic tins as well as festive snow, miniature figures, fabrics, old holiday cards and more. You will also need a glue gun, scissors, and a pencil.

Make Your Background

Next trace the circumference of your magnet against a holiday card or another type of festive looking material. Take the cap off your magnet and insert the material into the bottom. This will be the background for your magnet scene.

Add Figurines

The next step is to add figurines into your magnet. They may not fit. If this is the case, you will need to cut off some of the plastic. Once they are the right size, glue them into the magnet.

Add Snow

The snow can float around in the magnet loosely. Once you have sprinkled it in, close the lid. Your magnet is now complete. You can close it up and put in on your fridge or any surface it will stick on.

What to Do with Your Holiday Magnets

Magnets are the perfect thing for holiday decorating. Here are the various ways you can integrate them into your design.

• To Hold Cards: The magnets can be used to hold Christmas cards onto the fridge during the holiday season.

• To Hold Decorations: If you have a little one in your home, they are likely to come home with a Christmas collage or a handmade Santa. The magnets will be the perfect thing for displaying them on the fridge.

• Give Them to Friends: A magnet set makes the ideal gift for a friend or relative. After all, who doesn’t need magnets? You can gift a store-bought magnet or one you made yourself to add a personal touch.

• Make a Magnet Display: The magnets can even be their own display. You can place your entire set on the fridge or another metal surface and make them part of your design.

Magnets are fun and functional. You can purchase them or make your own to add to the holiday fun. How will you be integrating them in your décor?
