Why You Need to Schedule a Trip to Oktoberfest New York

Oktoberfest is a traditional festival that takes place every year in Munich, Germany. It celebrates German culture, food, and most importantly, Beer.

Not everyone will be able to travel to Germany to enjoy this experience, but fortunately, many places around the world host their own versions of Oktoberfest. Take for instance, Oktoberfest New York. It takes place right in the heart of Manhattan at the Watermark, a Waterfront Bar on Pier 15.

Read on to find out how you can enjoy this event and what it has to offer.

When and Where

Oktoberfest NYC takes place from September 2 to October 31. Hours are as follows:

Monday – Wednesday: 4PM – 11 PM

Thursday: 4 PM – 12 AM

It happens at the Watermark, a waterfront bar located at Pier 15, 78 South St. in Manhattan. It is one of the many bars and restaurants located at the historic South Street Pier. About Oktoberfest NYC

The event celebrates everything Oktoberfest related including lederhosen, giant pretzels, and, or course, beer.

Guests can enjoy games and activities and live music. They can play ping pong, corn hole and valley pong on weekdays. Traditional dress is encouraged.

Oktoberfest is an indoor/outdoor event that converts the entire pier into a festival offering beer, games, and decorations. The interior bar will offer full bar service with staff serving beer, wine, cocktails, and nonalcoholic beverages.

The event is free to attend and open to all ages. However, anyone under 21 will not be admitted without a parent. People under 21 are also not able to drink.

Reservations are recommended. The event tends to sell out. You can RSVP to confirm attendance on the Oktoberfest NYC website. You will also have the option to reserve a VIP table or cabana and skip the line with a prepaid deposit.

Guests can enjoy 1-liter steins for $15 and ½ liter steins for $10. Two 16 oz. beers will fill a 1-liter stein while one will fill a ½ liter stein.

Beer brands include traditional selections like Weihenstephan, Hofbrau and Radeberger. Non-German beers will also be sold. Bratz and big pretzels are also available.

The festival takes place rain or shine.

While in New York

There are so many things to see and do while in New York, we could write pages on that alone.

Check out the Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building and Ground Zero sites. Pop into the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the many other museums in the city. Explore Central Park or hang out in Washington Square Park. Head over to the boroughs and explore every nook and cranny from Harlem to the Lower East Side.

If you want to check out Oktoberfest but can’t make it to Manhattan, Oktoberfest NYC is the perfect alternative. It offers a good deal of excitement set against the vibrant New York City skyline. Will you be scheduling a trip this coming season?
