Why Jackson, Wyoming is the Place to Be This Holiday Season
If you are wondering where to vacation this Holiday season, why not make it Jackson, Wyoming?
Jackson is a town in Wyoming’s Jackson Hole Valley. It is home to three ski areas. Other attractions include its arches made of shed elk antlers, its Museum of Wildlife Art and its green areas like Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park.
The town is glorious to visit any time of year, but it may be at its best during the holiday season. Here are some things you can enjoy when you’re in town.
Town Square Tree Lighting and Santa on Square
The event kicks off the holiday season. The town’s historic square is illuminated. There are performances by choral and dance groups and hot chocolate and cookies will be served. Santa will be visiting the Square for the event and throughout the holiday season. Be sure to bring your little ones to let him know what they want for the holiday season.
Fun at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort
Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is a prime skiing location. Santa drops by at the base of the Aerial Tram on Christmas Eve and spends a day on the slopes. Children can ski with him near Teewinot and Bridger Gondola. The resort will be hosting other activities throughout the week such as cookie decorating, ice skating and more.
Sleigh Rides
Another great way to celebrate the holidays is to take a horse drawn sleigh ride through the National Elk Refuge. An expert will guide you providing information on the elk herd as well as magnificent views and an interactive learning experience. After the ride is over, you will be served a savory meal.
Holiday Art Bazaar
The Holiday Art Bazaar happens at the Center for the Arts Lobby and Black Box Theater. It’s a great place to find unique items that make terrific holiday gifts.
12 Days of Christmas at The Wort Hotel
The Wort Hotel is a historic boutique hotel in downtown Jacksonville. It will be decked out with lights for its annual 12 Days of Christmas event. Each day will offer something new including visits from Santa, Gingerbread house decorating and more.
New Year’s Eve Torchlight Parades and Fireworks
If you’re still in Jackson for New Year’s Eve, you’re in luck. There are plenty of events to enjoy including torchlight parades, fireworks and more.
The Jackson Hole Mountain Resort will be hosting an annual torchlight parade, glow worm parades and a fireworks display. Snow King Mountain will be kicking off their fireworks display at 7:30 PM and Grand Targhee will be hosting a kids torchlight parade, and adults’ torchlight parade and a fireworks display.
You may also consider visiting the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar with will be offing live music, a full bar and plenty of dancing.

Cowboy Christmas happens at Spring Creek Ranch with offers magnificent views of the Teton Range. Activities to enjoy include:

A menorah lighting with Chabad Jewish Center of Jackson Hole which takes place in the Four Seasons Resort Hotel in Teton Village. This is a free event that offers Hannukah treats, dreidels and mini menorahs.
The annual giant menorah lighting on Town Square which is also hosted by the Chabad Jewish Center. Guests will be treated to latkes, jelly donuts, dreidels, and mini menorahs.
