Christmas is a hectic time of year. When you are running around going to parties and entertaining, it’s easy to forget things. Many of us are all too familiar with the feeling of realizing we forgot to buy that certain someone a Gift on Christmas Eve.

Having to get a last-minute gift is stressful, but there are places you can go that will have decent selections, even in the 11th hour. Here are some to consider.

Food

No matter what day of the year or time of day it is, there’s bound to be a supermarket open. You can run out and get a box of chocolates, a spice set, a gift basket or anything else the recipient will enjoy.

Liquor

Liquor is another terrific last-minute gift. It can be purchased at a grocery store or just about any convenience store. Put a bow on it and you have a thoughtful gift that will fill the person on your gift list with the joys of the season.

A Gift Card

A gift card makes a good last-minute gift because it doesn’t require too much thought. The best thing is, you can even buy one online. If you go this route, you will end up having to print the gift card or send it to the person’s email which may not make the best presentation, but if you stuff a printout in a card and provide a humorous explanation, it may work out.

Make Your Own

If you are crafty, and have the right materials on hand, you may be able to make your special someone something that will come in handy. Can you cook? Are you an artist? Can you do wood carvings? If you’re lucky, you will have the time and material to whip up an item quickly. You can even make them a special baked good.

Flowers

Flowers can be purchased at the grocery store or a local market. You may even be able to call up a florist and have them make a special holiday delivery. Winter flora and fauna will make up the seasonal perfect bouquet.

A Framed Picture

Do you have a photo of the person you are buying for? How about a spare picture frame? Combine the two into a present they are sure to love.
