Traditions: DIY Christmas Baubles Ideas That Will Make Your Tree Unique

Baubles are what makes your Tree look special. These round ornaments will provide a unique flair that makes your tree stand out from the others.

To make your tree truly special, make your own baubles. This will guarantee it will look like no other tree on the block. If you are thinking going the DIY route, here are some tips that will help you make baubles that will be the talk of the town.

Tattooed White Ceramic Baubles

For this one, you will start with a ceramic bauble. Adhere a temporary tattoo of your choice to the surface using the same process as you would if you were putting it on your skin. Use a ceramic sealant to make it last longer.

Rosemary Bauble

To make a rosemary bauble, fill a clear bauble ¾ full of the sprigs of your choice. Rosemary will work best, and it will also produce a lovely seasonal aroma, but it you can’t find rosemary, any foliage will do.

Stamped Bauble

A stamped bauble offers a personalized touch. Start with a ceramic bauble. It can be any color, but it should be light enough to show the ink of the stamp.

Then use a stamp and ink set to spell out your recipient’s name on the surface. Once again, the ink of the stamp can be any color but make sure it is dark enough to show up on the bauble. Let the bauble dry.

Once dried, attach twine to the top so you can hang it.

Calligraphy Initial Bauble

This one is a little more complicated than the rest. Hold a clear bauble securely in your hand. Us a gold sharpie to draw the recipient’s initial on the surface doing your best to give it a curly, calligraphy appearance. If you make a mistake, nail polish remover will remove the ink.

Once dried, tie a ribbon to the top for hanging.

Paper Bauble

To make a paper bauble, take two pieces of card and draw a doughnut shape in each one. Cut out the templates. Put the templates together and wrap wool around them. Keep going until you can no longer push the wool through the donut hole.

Cut the wool around the outer edge of the donut, then split the two bits of card and tie a piece of wool around the middle. Tear off the card and attach a piece of ribbon to drape it off the tree branch.

If you are thinking of giving your tree a standout look, DIY baubles are the way to do it. Now that you know how to make your own, you’re ready to make some great designs. Which will you be trying this Christmas season?
