Traditions: Mocktails That Will Make Your Christmas in July Season Bright

If you are missing Christmas, there are plenty of ways you can bring it to your summer. For example, you can celebrate Christmas in July.

Christmas in July is an unofficial holiday celebrated in Southern Hemisphere countries by people who want to enjoy the season when it’s actually cold outside. (Their winter is our summer and vice versa) but you can celebrate it anywhere. You can throw a Christmas in July party, or just keep the spirit with you throughout the warm weather months.

But no matter how you choose to celebrate, there is one necessary element that’s sure to make the season bright; mocktails. Mocktails are nonalcoholic beverages served cocktail style. They feature exotic juices and festive elements that make them look like alcoholic drinks, but you never have to worry about drinking and driving, waking up with a hangover or making a fool out of yourself.

If you are looking for cocktails that will put you in a Christmas in July mood, here are a few to consider.

Raspberry Lemonade Virgin Mojito

This drink features a blend of 15 mint leaves, 1 oz. simple syrup, 2 oz. freshly squeezed lime juice, 8 oz. sparkling raspberry lemonade and raspberries, mint leaves and a lime wedge for garnish. The red and green colors make it perfect for the holiday season.

Grapefruit Kombucha Agua Fresca

To be completely transparent, kombucha has a very low levels of alcohol, so technically, this could be considered a cocktail. Let’s just call this one a mocktail you should not be serving the kids. In addition to one cup of kombucha, it also contains one cup of grapefruit juice, 1 tbsp of maple syrup, 2 sprigs of rosemary and pure sparkling water (optional).

Strawberry Orange Ginger Fizz

Strawberry is a great summer fruit while Orange and ginger are better representations of the cold, winter months. The blend makes this drink the ultimate Christmas in July beverage. To prepare it, you will need to combine strawberries, ginger, an orange peel, honey, orange juice, water, sea salt, and strawberry orange ginger syrup in a saucepan. Cool and strain, then pour some into the bottom of a cocktail glass. Add sparkling water and ice cubes and garnish with an orange slice, a half strawberry or a sprig of mint.

Refreshing Orange Mint Mocktail

To make this invigorating drink, stir orange juice, lemon juice, water and sugar into a vessel until the sugar dissolves. Add a spritz of club soda and ice cubes. Garnish with orange slices and mint leaves.
