Decorating: Four Great Christmas Centerpieces That You Can Make at Home

Centerpieces can be a stunning focal point for table settings and rooms. Place one in the center of your dining room table and you will create a lovely aesthetic that can set the tone for the décor. Place one on your coffee table and you will lighten up the entire room.

At Christmastime, a holiday-themed centerpiece will take your interior design to the next level. And the best part is, you can make many of them yourself. Here are some ideas that will get you inspired.

Candles Placed in a Rustic Setting

Candles make terrific centerpieces. They add a vibey light source that makes your rooms seem intimate and cozy.

Take your candle centerpieces to the next level by placing them in a rustic setting. Put them in a bowl that contains matching ornaments with an overriding color theme like metallic gold or rich reds. You can also put them in a wooden base with natural or artificial branches and leaves.

Winter Wonderlands

To create a winter wonderland, start with a mason jar. Fill it with glittery cotton to make a snowy base. Then add elements like branches and twigs for a nature scene or tell a story with small dolls and buildings. Frosty and Santa will also be the perfect figures for completing a wintery look.

Christmas Tree and Potted Plant Centerpieces

There are plenty of evergreen plants you can use as a centerpiece.  They have a terrific winter vibe that will give your table the perfect aesthetic. Alternately, a small, or baby, plant or bush, or even a potted Christmas tree will work perfectly in this application.

Plant these in a decorative pot that features a vibrant Christmas scene. You can even paint the pot itself. If the plant is sturdy enough, you may be able to add decorations to make it look like a miniature Christmas tree.

Candy

Christmas is the time of year for eating sweets. It’s not just about the delightful taste, it’s also the festive look. Brightly colored candies are perfectly inline with the joys of the season.

It’s easy to incorporate the candy theme into your centerpiece. Simply find a mason jar and paint it with decorative elements like snowflakes and Santa making sure to leave the glass mostly see-through. Then fill it with the most colorful candy you can find. M & M’s, peppermint candies and jellybeans are just a few excellent examples.

Your centerpieces play a major role in your seasonal decorations. The tips in this article will help you create centerpieces that will have your guests’ jaws on the floor. Which will you be making this holiday season?
