Years ago, I had this lofty Dream of becoming a millionaire within the next ten years. The desire was strong, and my goal was to carry out practical steps to achieve that dream. As December drew near, I quickly drew up my new year Resolution, and top on the list was my desire to become a Millionaire.

The New year came, and different activities soon overshadowed my goals and dreams of becoming a millionaire. I never bothered to look up the diary where I wrote down my new year’s resolution because I never got to achieve half of what I wrote down.

it was a tough lesson back then, and the lessons I learned helped to shape me into the person I am today. The dream of becoming a millionaire is still fresh in my mind, but I have learned to approach issues differently.

As the year 2021, gradually winds down, and the New year beckons upon us, the temptation to draw up some New year resolution may nudge us from all sides. That’s okay if we don’t allow it to control the very essence of our life.

My resolution (even though I don’t bother writing it down) is to become a better version of myself in every area of my life. In my academics, finance, and career, the desire is to consolidate on whatever achievement I have made this year.

Dreams are good, especially when pursued with passion, but when dreams become obsessive in nature, they can become destructive. The same applies to New year resolutions. Let’s be kind to ourselves and avoid being too critical of our achievements.

Life is beautiful when we stop and start enjoying every moment we have. There are individuals who had amazing plans for next year (2022) and had written well-crafted New Year resolutions, to fuel their dreams. Unfortunately, they never lived to see the end of the year.

“Life is a long journey so enjoy the journey and make some beautiful memories along the way” If you are okay with writing New Year resolutions, go ahead and write. As for me, I know what I want to achieve and I will passionately go after each one of them, while I enjoy each moment life brings across my path.
