Let’s go green

It’s no secret that last year I began to rethink the choices we’re making in this household and decided it was time to make better purchases, ones that are sustainable and planet friendly. My eyes were opened to the unbelievable amount of Plastic we use every single day. Things had to change.

You can imagine my excitement when TruEarth asked me to create a blog post about 3 of their items. I was even able to choose what I wanted.

Started by 3 dads who say:

“We will never compromise our values or cut corners to reduce costs. We will not shortchange the environment to make a profit. We will be transparent about production and ingredients.

We will never shame anyone or make people feel bad about their choices, we will simply work to provide eco-friendly products that work”.

The first item I had to have was the eco-strips, having tried them a few months before I already knew that they didn’t just work, they were life changing. The clothes came out fresh and clean, result! It’s sensitive to your skin and the environment.

You can say goodbye to large bottles or boxes of washing powder because all you need are these tiny white strips.

Each pack includes 32 strips, enough for 32 loads. 1 strip is 1 load.

There are 3 different options:

  1. Fresh Linen
  2. Fragrance free
  3. Baby.

They are phosphate free, biodegradable and 1,4-dioxane free.

Suitable for all machines, hot and cold water.

You need to try these, once you do, you won’t use anything else.

Available here.

The second product is the beeswax food wraps. It’s a 3 pack that includes one small, medium and large Wrap.

These reusable wraps made with natural cotton fabric, beeswax, tree resin & jojoba oil. They can be used to wrap sandwiches, fruit, bread, cheese or to cover bowls. They are easy to use, but not recommended for storing red meat.

Keep away from heat sources like hot water, dishwashers, microwaves and ovens.

They can be used up to 120-150 times. The materials used are 100% natural, completely biodegradable.

Also suitable for rising dough.

They have the following words on each wrap:

Eco Friendly

Save our planet

Say NO to plastic

Bring your bag

Bring your cup

Reduce Reuse Recycle

I’ve been using them for covering any leftovers, my avocado (not sure about you but I often just have half) and the unfinished sandwiches or fruits by the boys. I no longer waste anything.

Remember that it can be normal for the wraos to feel stiff at first. All you need to do is knead the wrap into a ball, spread out and air dry.

Think of all the cling film we could save by switching to this product.

Available here.

Finally I chose the bamboo cutlery set, it includes a fork, spoon, knife, chopsticks, Straw and straw cleaner.

I can take this anywhere, having that peace of mind knowing that I’ll never have to rely on single use plastic to eat a meal again. Amazing.

Each utensil is made of 100% bamboo fiber and can be cleaned in the dishwasher or by hand.

The little holder rolls up easily and therefore doesn’t take up much space.

These have been so helpful when I’m out and about, you never know when you need spare cutlery when you’re a mother. The straw gets used a lot when we’re at restaurants.

Everything cleans with little effort, dries quickly ready to be used again.

I highly recommend this set.

Available here.

Thank you TruEarth for sending us these incredible products.
