Georgia Foster Care

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Tucker, GA, December 29, 2023 – Wellroot Family Services, a leading non-profit organization dedicated to restoring children and families from trauma, is pleased to announce the election of Brad MacAfee as the new chair of the Wellroot Family Services Board of Directors and Jana Thomas as the new vice chair. In addition, the organization extends a warm welcome to Heather Faire, the newest member of the board.

Brad MacAfee, the founder and CEO of Mission + Cause, brings a wealth of experience and a commitment to making a positive impact on communities. His election as chair marks a significant milestone for Wellroot as it continues its mission to support families in need. MacAfee’s three-year term officially commences on January 1, 2024. He succeeds Dan Beale, Atlanta managing partner at Dentons, who has admirably served as board chair for the past three years.

“We are thrilled to welcome Brad MacAfee as the new chair of our board of directors. Brad’s passion for social impact and his leadership in the non-profit sector align perfectly with our mission. His guidance will undoubtedly steer us towards new heights in our commitment to the well-being of families and children,” said Allison Ashe, president and CEO of Wellroot Family Services.

Jana Thomas, who has served on the board for several years in multiple roles, will join MacAfee as vice chair. As the vice president, Southeast region at Humana, Thomas brings more than twenty-five years of experience in building, shaping, and leading organizations in strategy, operations, communication, research, and policy. Lastly, Heather Faire, president of Faire Practices, joins the board. With over 12 years of experience serving as vice president of human resources for the Coca-Cola company, Faire’s expertise will be invaluable as Wellroot continues to grow its programs and services.

“We are extremely grateful for Jana Thomas’ continued dedication to Wellroot, and we are delighted to welcome Heather Faire. Heather’s wealth of experience in human resources, combined with her dedication to community service, makes her a valuable addition to our team. We look forward to partnering with our new members as we work together to create positive and lasting change for families in our community,” said Ashe.

Wellroot Family Services is confident that the newly elected leadership will strengthen the organization’s ability to fulfill its mission and make a meaningful impact on the lives of those it serves.
