The seventh annual FamFest was a memorable day, celebrating Wellroot’s community of families, caregivers, and staff. Over 450 guests gathered at Six Flags Over Georgia theme park for a day of play, which included face painting, tattoos, a photo booth, lunch with ice cream, and a lively DJ. Together, caregivers and Wellroot staff cherished the joy on the faces of children, youth, and young adults as they connected with other families from Wellroot’s programs.

“The incredible success of our clients and the support from our sponsors made this heroic celebration possible. Together, we honored the growth of our youth, young adults, and families. It is truly a day about connecting with our community, to our support systems, and under Wellroot’s mission to heal families,” shared Allison Ashe, Wellroot Family Services president, and CEO.

This year, Wellroot celebrated the superhero in each one of our youth, families, and staff. It was a day of togetherness, honoring milestones like adoptions, reunification, first homes, and graduations. The boundless happiness from the rollercoaster rides to the pavilion ceremony made these heartwarming moments even more pronounced.

During the ceremony, CEO Allison Ashe highlighted several heroic programs, including the progress of the young people currently a part of our Transitional Living Program, the academic achievements of students who have graduated or soon-to-be graduates, and the personal growth of healthy families, moms, and babies. Ashe was thrilled to see the Wellroot community bonded by each other’s success.

The most memorable part of the day was undoubtedly the joy echoing throughout the pavilion. Witnessing the smiles on the kids’ faces as they raced from ride to ride at Six Flags filled the hearts of their caregivers. The laughter-filled moments at the lunch pavilion were a delight to participate in. Seeing everyone proudly wearing their FamFest shirts as they interacted with other families over the delicious lunch program further deepened the bonds that make this community unique.

Every year, FamFest reminds us why the mission is vital for those we serve and why Wellroot is lucky to have the generous support from the community, various organizations, and individuals.
