Courtesy of Breaking Glass Pictures, today's Groovy Giveaway is two DVDs of Papi Chulo, the charming, sensitive comedy-drama from writer/director John Butler (Handsome Devil).

The film stars Matt Bomer (The Normal Heart, Magic Mike franchise) as a newly-single TV weatherman who is put on leave following an on-air meltdown, and Alejandro Patiño as the middle-aged Latino day laborer whom Bomer hires to help with his home improvement. Despite a language barrier and having nothing in common, the two men develop an unexpected but profound friendship in this darkly comedic reflection on class, ethnicity and companionship. The cast also includes D’Arcy Carden, Ryan Guzman, Wendi McLendon-Covey and Elena Campbell-Martinez.

KPCC FilmWeek calls the film "sweet" and Eye for Film praises Butler for his "...delicate touch to both tragedy and comedy and the result is a genuinely heartwarming film."
