101 Groovy TV Movies #88: Dinner at Eight

Today I continue my list of 101 Groovy TV Movies Worth Watching with Dinner at Eight, which originally aired on TNT on Monday, December 11, 1989.

Produced by actress Shelley Duvall (The Shining), this updated remake of George Cukor's 1933 film stars Marsha Mason as the social butterfly wife of a New York shipping magnate (John Mahoney) who throws a dinner party. Her guests include Lauren Bacall as a romance novelist, Charles Durning and Ellen Greene as a ruthless tycoon and his wife, and Harry Hamlin as a fading Hollywood star.
