101 Groovy TV Movies #96: When Michael Calls

Today I continue my list of 101 Groovy TV Movies Worth Watching with When Michael Calls, which originally aired as ABC's Movie of the Weekend on Saturday, February 5, 1972 (it was rerun as ABC's Tuesday Movie of the Week on April 10, 1973).

Directed by Philip Leacock (The Daughters of Joshua Cabe) and written by James Bridges (who would later direct and co-write The China Syndrome and Urban Cowboy), the movie stars Elizabeth Ashley as a woman who begins receiving phone calls from her supposedly dead nephew Michael. The cast also includes Ben Gazzara and Michael Douglas (who would later produce and star in The China Syndrome).
