Anyone who watched CBS's Match Game back in the 1970s fondly remembers that every New Year's Eve (or Day) the show would feature a celebratory unveiling of its new sign. So today we are ringing in the new year as Match Game 77 becomes Match Game 78. The following two episodes (#1129 and #1130) originally aired on Tuesday, January 3, and Wednesday, January 4, 1978 (the former was taped on January 2), with host Gene Rayburn and panelists Richard Deacon, Charles Nelson Reilly, Mary Wickes, Richard Dawson, Joyce Bulifant and Fannie Flagg (who is sitting in for an absent Brett Somers).
