Things to do in Philadelphia as a couple

On the surface a trip to Philadelphia doesn’t sound like a good one for a couple. However, you would be wrong. Philadelphia is a great city to spend the day, night, or weekend in with your significant other.

From great date night ideas, to unique exploration, or amazing dining options. You can find something that you both will fall in love with. Day or night you will be amazed by what you find.

Throw axes, explore world class art, or walk cobblestone streets. The choices are endless in the City of Brotherly Love. Plus you can make the day as romantic as you want. Below you will find the top things to do in Philadelphia as a couple.

Visit Love Park

If you have been with your significant other for some time why not grab a photo at Love Park? Who doesn’t want to share with their friends and family a photo of you two next to this iconic Philadelphia statue?

Vetri Cucina

If you are just looking at having a one of a kind dining experience check out Vetri Cucina. This Italian restaurant is considered by many to be one of the best in America. Help the night get a little better by picking one of the more than 2,500 bottles of wine. It might just be a night you won’t forget. Or will forget depending on how much wine you have.

Eastern State Penitentiary

Let your girl see how manly or scared you are by visiting this Gothic style prison. Eastern State Penitentiary was once home to Al Capone and over 75,000 other inmates when this was a functioning prison.

If you are brave enough, take them on a date when the prison is set up for Halloween. We dare you.

Double Knot

If you are looking for a unique place for a lunch date you have to check out the Double Knot on 13th Street. Grab a cup of Coffee or a cocktail while you enjoy a delicious dessert or sushi. It is really up to you how you want to spend your time at this unique Philadelphia location.

Blue Cross RiverRink

Can two adults lace up skates while out on a date? I don’t see why not. At Blue Cross RiverRink down at Penn’s Landing lets you roller skate in the summer months and Ice skate in the winter months.

Plus when you are not skating you can try to win them a nice stuffed animal. Or share some crab fries.

Hit the Spa

Planning on spending the weekend in the City of Brotherly love? Why not stay at the Four Seasons Hotel and hit the spa. Check out the night spa for a great relaxing outing with your partner. Plus you are on the 57th floor and have some incredible views of the city.

Spruce Street Harbor Park

Take a stroll. Grab a bite to eat. Or just relax in a hammock. Spruce Street Harbor Park along the river is a great place to spend some time with that special person.

Check out the Magic Gardens

If you are looking for that unique date idea, you have found it. The Magic Gardens off of South Street is something you see in movies. Both of you will be inspired and who knows what might happen next.

Drink on the rooftop

Philadelphia has a few rooftop bars which make a perfect way to end the night. Check out Assembly Rooftop Lounge, Bok Bar, Revolution House, or one of the many others.

Visit the Art Museum

The Philadelphia Art Museum is iconic much like so many things in the city of Philadelphia. This is one of the nations largest art museums. You and your partner will love all the art work throughout the building.

Philadelphia Zoo

If it was good enough for Rocky, why wouldn’t it work for you? The Philadelphia Zoo is America’s oldest zoo. Walk through this historic location and look at all the amazing animals that call the Philly Zoo home.

Dine at Reading Terminal Market

If you are looking for it you can find it here. Flowers, food, and gifts can all be found here. Like many things in Philadelphia, the Reading Terminal Market is one of the oldest in America. It’s also one of the best.

Morris Arboretum

The Morris Arboretum is a 92 acre Arboretum has so much to offer. Stroll through the lush gardens or if you are lucky, you can pack a picnic. On certain evenings in the summer you can pack a picnic and enjoy some Jazz. Either way you and that special someone will enjoy each others company and the surroundings.

Throw Down

Try your hand and throw axes. This is a great time for the two of you to bond. I know it might sound a little weird, but trust me. Chucking some axes at a wooden target is a lot of fun.

Cherry Street Pier & Race Street Pier

At Cherry Street Pier you can explore local art studios and at least one a month they usually have some kind of market going on. Race Street Pier is a great place to take a walk and you can get a unique view of the Ben Franklin Bridge.

Philadelphia isn’t just the city of Brotherly Love. It’s a lovely place for couples to visit. No matter what you are looking for you can find it it Philly. Running the art museum steps or take a stroll through lush gardens. Chow down on some amazing food or feel the breeze coming off the river.
