Inside Fight Camp – the ‘lucky’ boxing venue set to host Dillian Whyte and Alexander Povetkin and it’s in Eddie Hearn’s back garden

The coronavirus pandemic has effected sport globally with many brought to a complete standstill over the last few months.

But like we have seen from Dana White and the UFC, the show must go on – and Eddie Hearn is demonstrating that now.

Matchroom Boxing’s Fight Camp went from an idea to reality

Instead of running an empty arena bereft of fans – or securing a private island – the Matchroom chief decided to erect his own mini-arena in the garden of his promotion’s boxing HQ.

Matchroom’s offices are actually 41-year-old Hearn’s old family home.

He moved there when he was five and his father, Barry, paid £200,000 for the property.

Hearn says the property has brought nothing but luck to himself when it comes to family and business.

It has a pool and a gym which Hearn’s staff and pool of fighters have been known to use.

The property also boasts a lush, expansive garden that comes complete with a helipad, but right now it is dominated by the new mini-arena that is known as Fight Camp.

Hearn has made sure the fighters have their own changing rooms with mini ring walk, the ring area and a section behind the ring where the Matchroom boss admits he hopes to have press in for Dillian Whyte vs Alexander Povetkin, the fourth and final Fight Camp event.

Hearn has had a ring built in the garden of his former family home, which is now the HQ of Matchroom Boxing

Fighters are currently staying at a hotel located minutes away and everything possible is being done to ensure they remain healthy and isolated until fight time.
