Best Euro 2020 kits we won’t see until next year as coronavirus delays European Championship until 2021

UEFA have officially delayed the 2020 European Championship for one year due to the coronavirus outbreak.

It is, of course, a necessary step to protect the health and wellbeing of players, fans and staff members, and the tournament will now be played out in 2021.

There’s a genuine belief England could win their first major trophy since the World Cup in 1966 when Euro 2021 comes around

This also means we have to wait another year to see the kits designed by the top sportswear manufacturers get a run out at a major tournament.

Seeing your nation’s new strip while your players stand in line and belt out the national anthem (unless you’re Spain) is a moment of pride.

And this summer we were due to be seeing some instant classics with a batch of superb strips coming out.

So, which teams’ tops can’t we wait to see in action at Euro 2021? Find out below

Group A

Turkey

Simple yet effective, this white and red away shirt for the Crescent-Stars.

A young and hungry generation of stars like Cengiz Under, Zeki Celik, Caglar Soyuncu, and Merih Demiral will look excellent while repping this Nike effort.

The round neck collar and red sleeve trim top it all off.

Italy

Italy have had some classic kits over the years and their Euro 1996 strip was a real delight.

This stunning number has brilliant graphic patter on it which has been inspired by the traditional tiling and architecture of the Renaissance period.

What a beauty – and they could make history in it too.

Wales

A slick effort from adidas means Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey will be looking slick next summer.

The yellow shoulder stripes go well and the addition of green and white into the sleeve trim works well.

Switzerland

Puma often get their kit designs spot on with some of their jerseys for African nations really impressing over the years.

The Swiss away shirt has four mountains as its graphic – representing the four main languages of the neutral nation.

The different shading and the dark red on the collar is a real treat along with the trio of emblems at the top.

Group B

Finland

The Finns have finally managed to qualify for a major tournament and, as you can see, they are ready to represent their nation in style.

Nike’s effort is white with the country’s blue cross emblazoned across it, fading from dark blue to a lighter shade at the bottom.

Belgium

The Red Devils have already worn this kit but it is too good not to include.

The diagonal black brush strokes are a lovely touch, along with the underlying patterns in red to build a ‘B’ on the front of the jersey.

Russia

According to adidas, the Russian home jersey is a ‘crossover between the people, football and the Russian flag’.

And they have done a great job, with the white and blue at the base of the sleeve particularly nice.

One gripe is the pattern on the body is not across the whole jersey resulting in an unnecessary seam.

Group C

Netherlands

Usually it is the home Dutch strip which takes all the headlines but at Euro 2021 this black design promises plenty.

The lion print on the shoulders and sides is a nice touch, along with the lightning stripe trim. A collar really tops it off for us.

Austria

Having failed to win a match at a major tournament since 1990, the Austrians are hoping a set of experienced but not veteran aces like David Alaba, Marko Arnautovic and Aleksander Dragovic can be aided by younger talents such as Florian Grillitsch, Xaver Schlager and Marcel Sabitzer.

Even if they flop again, they will at least look the part with this nice Art Nouveau inspired Puma design. It’s also their first jersey with their federation’s new logo.

Group E

Spain

Chequered shades of red are the order of the day for the Spaniards who will have big hopes going into the European Championship.

The design is a touch pixelated to give it an even more unique look, and adidas say it takes inspiration from the nation’s flag.

Group F

Portugal

Another simple and classy effort from Nike, this looks really sleek. The collar is a real strong point, while the trim is subtle and stylish.

To top it all off Portugal will be wearing green shorts with their home strip for the first time since 2004.

France

Taking inspiration from their World Cup 1998 shirt – deemed by many to be one of the greatest national team jerseys of all-time – Nike are onto a winner here.

A single red stripe goes across the chest with two different shades of blue looping the entire design – it’s a lovely looking kit.

Germany

It’s very rare to have a bad German kit as adidas strike again.

The pinstripe black hoops give this a classy look, while the black, red and gold on the sleeve trim are perfect to finish it off.
