Real Madrid have agreed a £47million deal with Ajax for Dutch playmaker Donny Van de Beek, reports claim.
The Netherlands international drew interest from a number of top European clubs for his brilliant displays in Ajax’s superb run to the Champions League semi-finals last season.
And he has continued his red-hot form this campaign, having netted six goals and four assists in 16 league matches for the Eredivisie champions.
Real are on the hunt for creative midfielder as they seek a long-term replacement for Luka Modric, and it is believed Zinedine Zidane has earmarked the 22-year-old as the man to succeed the Ballon d’Or winner.
According to Marca, a deal has been agreed between the clubs for Van de Beek to move to the Bernabeu, though he will not arrive until the summer.

Van de Beek, who has been capped nine times by the Netherlands, first caught Zidane’s eye last season with an impressive display at the Bernabeu in the Champions League last-16.
The news of the midfielder’s impending move to the LaLIga giants will come as a huge blow to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who wanted him to spearhead United’s midfield next season.
Other playmakers the Red Devils have been linked with are Leicester’s James Maddison and Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish.
Van de Beek’s rubbished rumours of a mid-season departure earlier this week.
Speaking at Ajax’s mid-season training camp in Qatar, he said: “I have said it before and I will say it again: I will remain at Ajax this season. And maybe next season as well.
“These reports about Real Madrid or Manchester United are a good sign, but it is not important now. I’ve said I will stay at Ajax and I will do so, 100 per cent.”
