Conor McGregor is ‘pathetic excuse for a human being,’ says Georges St-Pierre’s coach Firas Zahabi

Georges St-Pierre’s coach has branded Conor McGregor a ‘pathetic excuse for a human being.’

In April, the Irishman punched an elderly man in the head during a confrontation in a Dublin bar, with video footage of the incident drawing widespread criticism of the UFC star.

McGregor has since admitted he was in the wrong and apologised.

Firas Zahabi, the renowned trainer of welterweight legend St-Pierre blasted ‘Notorious’ over the incident.

“I don’t care what anybody says, it is indefensible,” he said on his YouTube podcast.

“There is no defence to this except that this guy is a pathetic, sorry excuse for a human being.

“What a disgusting display. I don’t care how much money you have. I don’t care how famous you are in the world. If this is the type of person you are, your value is zero. Your value is zero.”

Despite McGregor claiming he has made amends, Zahabi believes the Dublin altercation was a reflection of his true colours.

“I’m sure 99 per cent of all Irish people who saw that are disgusted,” Zahabi continued. “99 per cent sure his coaching staff are disgusted. Everybody’s disgusted at this thing. He probably thought nobody was filming. We know that when nobody’s looking, McGregor will do the most disgusting acts. Those are his true colours.

“It’s just purely disgusting. I could not be more disappointed.”

McGregor is reportedly close to agreeing to face Floyd Mayweather in a live, updated version of the television classic Superstars on New Year’s Eve in Japan.

Superstars was a popular hit 1970s BBC program which showcased participants competing in different combat, strength and speed challenges, as well as physical endurance tests and it is thought McGregor has been offered £10m to take part.
