Autumn is officially here and we are looking forward to spending as much time as we can outdoors enjoying the beautiful foliage as they change colors. In this editorial we are sharing our tried and true tips for transforming your backyard or patio into a warm and cozy space so you can enjoy being outdoors in the Fall season.

 

1. Add an Outdoor Fireplace, Firepit or Fire Table: No backyard patio is complete without an outdoor fireplace or firepit to keep you warm and cozy while extending the outdoor entertaining season. An outdoor fireplace is especially useful from fall to early winter when the temperatures are much cooler.

2. Earth-Tone Outdoor Throw Pillows: You can easily and affordably transform your outdoor space by replacing your summer outdoor pillows with ones in warm fall tones and shades like creams, tans and brown.

3. Warm-Fabric Outdoor Throws and Blankets: When it comes to outdoor blankets we think the more, the merrier. Fill up a decorative outdoor basket with lots of blankets that you and your family or guests can easily grab and get cozy in while chatting outdoors.

4. Scented Outdoor Candles are a great way to create a warm ambiance and also create heat and are a great alternative to a fireplace outdoor firepit in the early days of  fall. Choose a seasonal scented candle like Pumpkin Spice or Apple Cinnamon for all the fall feels.

5. Textured Outdoor Rugs: An area rug can make or break a space and it's no different when it's outdoors. For the fall season switch out your polyester summer rug for a fabric outdoor rug that will be warmer on the feet and cozy up your space.

6. Seasonal Blooms: Plant seasonal blooms in your garden that will naturally add a fall ambiance when the season's change. Some of our favorite summer to fall blooms are hydrangeas which change from pink, white and green into a beautiful red hue in the fall. You can purchase fall blooms like mums from your local floral shop, nursery or supermarket to add to your flower pots for an instant fall decor makeover.
