Until I heard your song again

Tags: song heard

I was gazing at the moon, counting the stars
Marking constellations in those nightly hours
Writing sonnets in awe of the mist, the mountain
Until, oh until, I heard your song again

I was smiling at the children, their playful ways
And returning a little child his loving gaze
Beating life on its endless tricks and games
Until ofcourse I heard your song again

Once I was singing along a song of Nat King Cole
Wondering should music take so much soul?
And all of a sudden, I felt hit by a familiar pain
And I heard your song again

Who can tame the memories? For they have no rhythm
Yet they contain universes and galaxies within them
How in the end it’s just the nostalgia that remains
And then I heard your song again

Suffering is the rule, joy the exception – Joni says
So I found grace even in sorrowful nights and days
I resolved to write more, and stay oh so sane
Until I heard your song again
