Las Vegas is consistently ranked among the top destinations for hosting all types of events, including conferences, trade shows, and meetings, thanks to its ideal mix of business and pleasure, with world-class dining and nearly endless options for entertainment. 

No matter what kind of event you plan to host, there are certain essentials it should include to make it one to remember. 

The Right Venue

One of the most important aspects of any event is the venue. There is a wide range of options in Las Vegas, on and off the Strip as a city built to entertain, from classics like The Venetian and Bellagio hotels which offer space for both intimate and large gatherings, to T-Mobile Arena and unique spaces like the Neon Museum.

Choosing the right venue involves thinking about everything you’ll need such as the type of Audience, the size and amount of seating, catering, Wi-Fi, lighting, and options for tech help. 

The Location

Your attendees will easily be able to find flights to Las Vegas from their home destinations as McCarran International Airport is one of the busiest in the nation, but you’ll also want to think about which part of the city to hold your event in.

If you want to immerse your guests in classic Vegas, the iconic Fremont Street Experience may be ideal as everyone will have easy access to the many stages, bars, and casinos. Downtown may be best for corporate events as it’s accessible and has an abundance of hotel rooms, bars, and restaurants. It’s also an area that’s easy for attendees to walk from place to place rather than having to spend on transportation and parking like they would on the Strip.

Entertainment

Entertainment is a highlight of any event and it can make or break its success. The right type of entertainment depends on your audience – it helps set the mood and ensure that the event will be a memorable one for all. Not only should you consider the ages and professions of your audience, but the variety of personalities.

If there are more people who are reserved, an act requiring audience participation probably isn’t the best as you want attendees to get the most out of the entertainment. If there will be a lot of skeptics, you might avoid booking a hypnotist or magician, hiring a comedian instead. 

Keep in mind that there is a myriad of options to choose from that go well beyond comedians, singers, and bands, from Las Vegas dancers and aerialist performers to motivational speakers. 

Food and Drink

Right up there with entertainment, the food and drink play a significant part in any memorable event. No matter how grand the venue, if the food is bad it can destroy all chances for success. Many event venues provide a catering package or you may need to hire your own. If that’s the case, you’ll want to compare the options, asking each potential caterer about the types of events they’re most comfortable working with to ensure the best fit.

Most caterers will provide a standard catering menu making it easy to get an idea of the type of cuisine they often serve, but if you have guests attending who adhere to specific diets, as is often the case, you’ll want to be sure the menu can be changed to fit those needs. A sample tasting is always a good idea so that you can judge how good the food is firsthand and get an idea as to how it might be presented as well.
