Stephan Micus: Dedication in Sacred Music

Stephan Mickey seems to be a special artist. He is a German musician and composer with a unique Music style that does not compare to any other music direction. Music is a journey and the journey is the imprint of the artist’s own life. A journey back to the roots of mankind, a path that rebuilds the past and turns to the roots of a life, full of energy and meaning. A life that does not resemble with the emptiness and materialism of Western civilization.

The journey begins

Stephan Mickey is a busy person, who did a lot of travels. He has travelled to Japan, India, South America, and has captured the musical idioms of each region in a highly creative way, combining individual styles into a unique musical speech.

At the same time, the instruments he uses to produce sounds, are from his own inventions, and also the language he uses to sing is from his own conception. We can talk about a sacred language of sacred music.

Micus lived a threefold life. He travels, studies, and creates music. It is an emblematic figure that music constitutes the whole of his presence, he continues his life and tries to enshrine the Human Body, with the help of nature and the music.

He uses rare musical instruments, which attracted by the ancient traditions of Asia and Africa. That is the cause why the sounds produced by them are unique and special.  These sounds connect the human body with the nature in an unbreakable unity.

His music has been characterized as the music of wisdom, as the music of life, and of the body. Micus tries to connect the human body with the universe, through the energy coming from the celestial and earthen bodies, and spreading to infinity.

In fact, Mikes wants to make the Western culture a kind of companion with musical traditions of ancient peoples from Asia, America and Africa. It creates the conditions for the music that expels from the primordial relationship of nature with human history, in the banality of the western civilization, with the aim to open impassable streets in mind and in the soul.

The contact with Micus’ music is a journey to the sources of human existence and at the same time a request to re-establish the inwardness of the human body. It is a journey in the reverse direction to the beginning of human existence.

Thoughts, music and notes emerge into a magical unity, creating a pantheon of spirituality and tranquillity. Micus’ music is the “Lost Atlantis” of the human soul.
