Cord Cutting Meditation: Let Go and Make Space, a Guided Meditation

The Mindful Soul Center (formerly Conscious Life Space)

A long time ago, my expectations, wants and desires were hindering me when it came to a particular situation. Even though I had done a lot of inner work I had trouble letting go and was suffering over my suffering. A spiritual counsellor sent me a recording of a cord-Cutting Meditation that guided me through a process with the intention to release myself from my attachment. This meditation and visualization not only relaxed my mind but was a symbolic gesture at the same time.

Of course, we can also practice mindfulness techniques but I was caught in a loop. Our brains can become addicted to chemicals that are released when we experience emotions. I needed a symbolic ritual. Symbols can help us anchor a thought or action when we give it meaning.

When I was suffering over my suffering that loop impeded my life. Once I cut the cords it felt freeing. That’s why I decided to create and share a cord-cutting meditation with you today. If you want to break negative patterns or to break free of attachments to unhealthy relationships or addictive behaviours then this is for you. You can even use this to break free from information overload and collective conscious energy that is draining you.

You can do it once or frequently. You can use it to release your mental aka psychic energy from any situation or attachment to a person, place or thing. Cutting cords to a person doesn’t mean that you are cutting someone out of your life, it is cutting away attachment to what no longer serves you (i.e. codependency in a relationship.) This meditation helps you release attachments to the past and to what no longer serves you. But even more importantly it is creating space for new experiences and to plant the seeds of intention. It opens you to new growth and experience for life to begin without the weight of those attachments.

Much of the the meditation is a visualization. There are parts of the meditation that you will repeat in your mind or aloud. I’ve provided them here for you so that you can have them as a reference.

Breaking the Cords with the Light of Love and Acceptance

I ask for the divine, the light of love to flow through me and act as a conduit to heal and forgive that which no longer is for my highest good and the highest good of all. Thank you for your guidance, protection, and healing.

I ask the divine to flow through the lotus at my crown and flow through to my heart

I ask for divine healing and forgiveness of myself and others.

I ask for the strength to take responsibility for my life and allow others to take responsibility for themselves.

I bring into my heart the qualities of unconditional love, understanding, and compassion for myself and others.

I ask for the power of discernment and the strength to make informed decisions that are for my highest good and the good of all.

With gratitude in my heart for what once was I release, I forgive, I heal and let go of any attachments to this place, person, situation, thoughts, feelings or way of being and cut any etheric cords that are no longer serving my higher purpose. I ask that all cords attached to me that are not aligned with love, light and positive attention be released. Help me to release them and surround me with a healing light to protect me from future attachments. Thank You.

You Are the Decider

We are constantly creating cords with many people and even objects, but if you feel drawn back to an unhealthy relationship, or want to break negative patterns or addictions, or feel a strong psychic connection to someone that is draining your energy, a cord-cutting ritual may be beneficial. This especially when it comes to relationships. I’ll give you an example; for instance, unrequited love – even though you may have created a cord between you and this other person and you know it is unhealthy or hurting you – you can reclaim your power, let go and allow for someone new to come in or even just release you from the attachment in case you need time alone.

The Highest Good for All

Cutting the cord can help break the energetic attachments created and can help you to move on to receive new opportunities in your life – new ones that you choose and are for the greater good of your beingness. Cutting a cord can help you recharge your energy, feel a sense of peace. In the end, you are the decider.
