This Godfirmation today is just one testament to the goodness of God in the book of Psalms. And I’m so grateful this morning for it!
In spite of how imperfect we are and the mistakes we often make, God’s love is unwavering. This specific verse from Psalm 86:5 is one of many reminders in the Bible of just how good, forgiving, and FAITHFUL God really is.
As I studied Psalms, a phrase that is repeated often describing God’s Love that I’ll never forget was FAITHFUL LOVE (Christian Standard Bible version). Other versions, like the English Standard Bible above, may read STEADFAST LOVE or ABOUNDING IN LOVE. A synonym that all of those words have in common? UNWAVERING.
God’s love is unwavering with us, even when we aren’t anywhere close to being faithful to Him. Even when I have had one foot in and one foot out with my Christian walk, He STILL gave me love, grace, strength, and mercy. He loves us in the good times and in the bad and continues to show up for us, even when we don’t think He’s there. In fact, God loved us so much that He sent Jesus to die on the cross for our sins (John 3:16), YEARSSS before we today were even thought of.
