The Top 5 Motivating Songs I Currently Have On Repeat

If you’ve been reading the site for a bit, you know that every Thursday I share Inspirational Jams with motivating music that I Love. Some of them I love just a littleeee bit more than others.

These five tracks have been on repeat for me currently. From reggae artist Koffee to pop rocker Panic! At The Disco, this short list reflects my eclectic musical tastes. However, they each motivate me in different ways whether it’s to live a life of gratitude, hustle my butt off and be strategic with my moves, or simply to love myself a little bit better. I hope that they serve you in the same.

Check them out below!

“Toast”-Koffee

Blessings all pon mi life and me thank God for di journey, di earnings a jus fi di plus (yeah). Gratitude is a must, yeah…

I love this Song by reggae artist Koffee so much that I use it as a warm up song in my virtual Zumba classes from time to time. “Toast” is literally a toast to life, a reminder to be grateful for all that you have and the journey that you’re currently on. (Fun Fact: this track was featured on Koffee’s 2019 EP, Rapture, which won the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album at the 2020 Grammy Awards. With the win, Koffee became the youngest person and only woman to be awarded in the Best Reggae Album category)

“Glorious” Ella Henderson

“Can we quit paying attention to opinions and perfections before we run out of youth? Oh, ’cause we got flaws in all of us but that’s what makes us glorious…”

We have physical, mental, and emotional things about us that we don’t like. British singer/songwriter Ella Henderson‘s song “Glorious” pushes us to celebrate are flaws and work on bettering ourselves where we can. I know I pick myself apart worse than any other critic out here ever could. I’m working on loving myself and learning that, even the things I consider flaws have their beauty. I have things to work on for myself, but I’m learning to love where I am right now. This song reminds me to continue that work.

“Chess Moves” – Emmanuel Hudson (Kosher)

“A’ight, check haters with chess moves…only execution, no excuses…”

Many people know actor and comedian Emmanuel Hudson from his funny YouTube videos or work on Nick Cannon’s improv comedy show Wild’n Out on VH1. But did you know the dude has BARS?! Emmanuel has regularly made songs before with his brother, Philip Hudson, but his most recent track, “Chess Moves” (released under his rap moniker Kosher) is a song I listen to daily. For me, the song inspires me to think strategically about my own work and really execute on my work. This hustle of mine is a long-term game.

“High Hopes” – Panic! At The Disco

“Had to have high, high hopes for a living…shooting for the stars when I couldn’t make a killing. Didn’t have a dime but I always had a vision…always had high, high hopes!”

High Hopes” from Panic! at the Disco (now a solo project for musician Brendon Urie) is a story of persistence towards his musical ambitions in spite of the rough times. As many of us know, when you pursuing a big dream, you can’t always see the end. You have your struggles and your moments of doubt. However, that vision and purpose inside of you, when it’s what you’re meant to do, won’t let up. This song encourages us to have hope that we will indeed achieve our dreams, no matter how big and wild they are.

“Been Up”-Wande (feat. WHATUPRG & nobigdyl)

“I see the cards, I was dealt, but my God always winnin’, so line ’em up, I wanna play..”

I recently started listening to Christian hip hop artist Wande but I love her music and spirit. Her tracks are always motivational and she gives God the glory for where she is and where she’s going. “Been Up” is a track where she commits to her purpose for her life to spread hope and encouragement through music. She refuses to stop and that’s where I am in life with my goals.

Tell me one of your favorite motivational tracks in the comments!
