I’m not saying that paying the premium is not worth it sometimes, especially if you are visiting a place, which requires loads of human resources, be it a zoo or any other kind of park. You might enjoy some scuba diving and it’s alright too, but if you are not being smart with your money – someone else will do that for you.

The Most Beautiful Things To Do in Tenerife for Free
El Teide Mountain
El Teide is a must visit, cuz it is the highest mountain in the island. Not an easy thing to miss, since you can see it from any side of the island. Although people are not allowed on the pinnacle itself, you can still reach the close ground by the cable cart. However, if you wanted to reach the close-top it will cost you a bit. Nevertheless, there are more things to see in the national park than just a mountain itself. [find here]
Los Roques de Garcia
It’s hardly possible to miss these thin tall rocks on the other side of El Teide. They did remind me the Great Canyon Rocks. You can climb into two of them. There is no need for the ropes though, cuz you can nicely walk up the stairs – there is a nice pathway done specifically for the tourists. [find here]
Los Gigantes
The huge rocks, which are constantly bombarded by the ocean water and wind, create these high and wide cliffs – wonderful miracles for the tourist’s eyes to see. There is a nice place for you to walk up to and enjoy the beauty of it. Although the best way to enjoy it is to hike close up there yourself. [find here]

Playa de las Teresitas
Playa de las Teresitas is one of the many gorgeous beaches in the whole Tenerife island. Observe the beauty of it from the viewpoint high up the mountain close by. Enjoy the swimming or sunbathing or both down there. If neither of those is in the interest of yours, at least give it a glance from the high up. [find here]
Vista de Taganana
North-East of the island is very hilly and no matter where you go it’s always an adventure. Be it driving, hiking or cycling – choose your adventure. This part of the island includes many of the things to do in Tenerife and this viewpoint is no exception. Notice all those small houses on the shore and understand how high you are. [find here]
Punta del Hidalgo
Punta del Hidalgo is a big-ish town mainly full of banana plantations. It’s always nice to see loads of green bananas, but that’s probably because I’m not used to seeing them. There is a nice place to end your journey for the day, where you can enjoy the ocean, dusk and cliffs. It kind’a reminded me of Los Gigantes, but in a less posh way. This town is a lower level class, which means almost no tourists around – but that’s what I liked about it – natural Tenerife, no fake glitter made for tourists. [find here]

Puerto de la Cruz
Puerto de la Cruz is quite a big city and it’s one of those places made for tourists. The city contains Loro Parque – which is a premium place – but you don’t have to visit it, especially if you are on the budget. Although, I’d strongly recommend you to give it a glance at least. You would need a day there as a minimum. The city itself is beautiful and reminds me of Los Angeles a bit. Check the picture – Av. Blas Perez Gonzalez. [find here]
San Pedro de Daute – La Puntilla
Although being a small town, San Pedro de Daute has a viewpoint worth visiting. It used to be a town with the most advanced and busy docks in the island back in the day. But one day the volcano erupted and buried docks under the hot magma. La puntilla is an outside pub built on the viewpoint. You don’t have to order anything there, but it’s worth stopping by and enjoying the view. [find here]
GUIA – La Matanza de Acentejo
La Matanza de Acentejo is a small town in the GUIA county. Built on a steep hill, it doesn’t look very inviting. Nevertheless, steep hills bring very beautiful views with them. One of them being a viewpoint in Calle Toscas de San Antonio. You can sit down on a bench and enjoy the views downhill. There is no way you can drive around and not visit this place. You just have to cross this place out of your things to do in Tenerife list. [find here]

Playa de las Americas
Playa de las Americas is not a beach, as the name suggests, but a town mainly built for the tourists. The town has loads of beaches, probably that’s why even the town name suggests that, which is quite misguiding.
The most popular beach in the town is called Playa de Fanabe. Even if you searched for Playa de las Americas on Google, you would get loads of pictures of Playa de Fanabe, which at the start made me believe that Playa de las Americas was actually a beach. It gets confusing when you know a little bit of Spanish. It’s definitely worth visiting and feeling a bit like an American. [find here]
