L'Oreal Paris Magic Retouch Spray

Anyone who dyes their Hair a darker colour will know how frustrating it is when your roots start to show. Especially if your natural hair colour is a lot lighter than what you dye it, regrowth is not a good look. L'Oreal Paris has released Magic Retouch, an instant root concealer spray that lasts until you wash your hair. They've developed 5 shades from blonde to black that blend seamlessly in with the colour of your hair.

I have been using this product non-stop since L'Oreal sent it my way to try out. I dye my hair dark brown every 6 weeks. Despite my hair being naturally medium-brown, my roots tend to be this really light mousy-brown colour and when they start showing through I think it looks awful. The hard-to-see colour makes my hair line look further back than what it actually is, which in turn makes me look older than I am.

I feel so much more confident with freshly dyed hair. It got to the point where I hated regrowth so much that I was dyeing my hair way too often, and you know how damaged your hair becomes when you're loading dye onto it every few weeks. Heavy, dry, lifeless.... not fun. This spray is a little life saver for my hair. I no longer have to worry about dyeing my hair every 6 weeks. I can push it through to 8-10.

I like to wash my hair at night and then spray this product in the next morning before my shower. I do have an issue with it which I hope they resolve eventually - it splatters everywhere. If you're spraying it on the top of your head along your part, that works fine. But the moment you get anywhere near your hairline (which is where I need it most) it leaves little splatters on your face and has also left spots on my arms and clothes as well. You have to treat it like an actual dye, wear an old top and have a wet cloth handy to wipe away any splatters afterwards. I also shield my face with one hand while spraying with the other. I assumed with the tiny nozzle that it would spray directly where I wanted, but unfortunately that's not the case. I'm willing to put up with it though as I love the result it gives. If I get too much product along my part, I like to just run my finger along it to make it visible again.

I was surprised how well the colour matched. I dye my hair with a "Dark Brown" or "Dark Chocolate Brown" mousse dye by Schwarzkopf or John Frieda and the L'Oreal Paris Magic Touch Spray in "Dark Brown" matches up perfectly.

I love how this product is temporary. If you spray any in the wrong place it can be wiped away immediately, and if you decide that you're ready to dye your full head of hair again then you can simply wash this product out and start fresh.

I will be repurchasing for myself and recommending (probably to my mum) for sure!
