Skoah Chestnut Hill Spa!

My Post-Facial Glow at Skoah!
On Friday, I was lucky enough to be treated to a facial at the new Skoah Spa in Chestnut Hill. I've tried some of Skoah's luxe skincare products before (most recently their masks during my W hotel slumber party) so I was really excited to experience one of their signature treatments for myself!

The Skoah brand, which originated in Canada, maintains a philosophy that in order for your skin to look and feel it's best, it needs regular workouts! Their aestheticians are called "Personal Trainers" and any product or skin care routine recommendations are known as "skinscriptions". Of course, in my opinion, a forty-five minute Skoah workout is far superior to any time at the gym!

The Skoah Chestnut Hill space is super light and airy with a modern design featuring natural woods, grey paints and even a cozy fireplace. I usually find spas to be a bit stuffy and dark so this setting is a welcome change! I was quickly introduced to my personal trainer, Brittany, and she led me back to a private room featuring an amazingly comfortable heated bed (Side Note: Why aren't heated beds standard?!) We discussed my skin concerns (I've moved from oily to combination over the past six months) and skincare routine while she decided on the best Skoah products for my personalized Fitskin facial.
Once I was settled under the covers, Brittany began by using warm, damp towels to prep my skin and then got down to exfoliating, cleaning and toning. Once my mask was applied, I enjoyed a wonderful mini-massage of my neck, arms and hands! I was so relaxed that even the extraction portion wasn't too painful. I appreciated the fact that while Brittany explained each product she used, I didn't feel pressured into purchasing them. She really focused on ingredients to look for that are perfect for my skin and the ones that I should avoid.

So what did she skinscribe for me? Drinking more water (and less caffeine) during the day to help my dehydrated skin. She also suggested adding an oil-free serum with hyaluronic acid to my skincare routine like their Skin Boost Serum. It helps to hydrate and fights signs of aging without clogging pores. Perfect for my skin's current awkward phase! I'm also planning on getting facials on a more regular basis, say, at the change of every season.
But my favorite part? My skin wasn't inflamed or irritated afterwards. It was clean, smooth and glowing! Just see for yourself...
A makeup-free, post-facial selfie? This must be a fashion blogger first!
