When I started Selenium this was one of the most confusing questions for me like from how to start, where to learn. How to get Selenium real-time scenarios by handful practice, this was also a one of challenge to me.
I will try to explain based on my view, which worked for me.

Once upon a time, I was completely new to Selenium and I used to jump from one topic to another topic without practice, which leads to confusion at the end.Follow below step which gave me very good results.

First, get basic of any programming language

As we, all know Selenium support 7 programming languages, which gives us the chance to take any language and use it, if you don’t know any language you can learn which language you prefer.

I am a Java buff and I use extremely with Selenium Web driver.

Before starting to learn selenium we should  have some knowledge with some Basic concepts of Java, which includes. Polymorphism, Inheritance, Arrays, Collection, Exception Handling, and String class etc.

We all know Java itself a big ocean, so try to cover which is required for Selenium only.

Do some case study about tools before using them

I will suggest you to do not get into directly into the designing script because it may take to some clumsy because of no idea about tools.Try to get some knowledge about tools such as what is the history of the Tool, tools flavors, who has designed, advantage, disadvantage and where we can learn real-time scenarios and hands on practice. Once you complete all these steps you will get the complete idea about Selenium Webdriver.

Take simple manual test cases and start automating them

You should take simple steps, which will make your understanding the complete flow of the script.When I was started, I took some sample applications and started basic test cases like. Finally, I find one institute Tekclasses where I learn real time scenarios and real time hands on experience in Selenium webdriver training, they are providing both online and classroom training. They provide example practice,Valid login, invalid login, registration form etc. You can also start with the same and if possible try to automate basic manual test cases for your project itself.

Take complex scenario and run them in all browsers

When you are comfortable with basic scripting knowledge, then take the next step and choose some complex scenarios, which will include some real-time end-to-end test cases. Once you have completed some complex scenarios, then you will get that confidence which will help you in next scenarios or in an interview as well.

Integration with other tools

Last but not least actually it’s very important to know about integration, it will play very crucial and important role in Automation so make sure that you are familiar with integration as well. As we discussed Selenium can be integrated with multiple tools such as TestNG, AutoIt, Maven, Sikuli, Jenkins and so on. You will face lots of issues while integrating with other tools, but it cannot be avoided.
